The Wayside Inn

We stayed here for a night and loved the cozy nostalgic atmosphere. Quaint and clean room with friendly staff. Had to leave early so didn’t get to have breakfast, but the warm rolls with cinnamon butter and apple butternut soup I had for dinner were amazing. Lovely river view from out room. Highly recommend!

I took the family away for the weekend. Ambience was unbelievable. The staff was absolutely incredible. The restaurant was absolutely delicious. Great food great atmosphere hell of a nice bar all in all was a great experience and yes I would do it again for whole family. Thanks again for the hospitality.

Hub and I spent 4 nights in the Queen Annex Oct.29-Nov. 2. POSITIVES: Beautiful views outside the inn. Our room had a beautiful view of the river. It was nice to sit outside on the balcony of our room with our morning coffee or an ice cold drink and look at the river and nearby mountains to the side. There were even a couple of nights during that time that we had just the screen closed with the main door open to the balcony so we could hear the river run at night while we slept. The location was decent, close to Chutters in Littleton and this great Chinese place across from Chutters that we got take out for dinner at one of the nights we were there (Forget the name of the place. It's like "Jings"...something.) and Franconia Notch. The Inn Keeper (Sarah, I believe her name is.), the front staff, and everyone else were quite friendly and nice. I called them maybe a week or so in advance requesting a slightly early check-in, and they granted that for us at no additional charge. The front office and the dining area certainly had a cozy feel to it, between the atmosphere and the scent. The food was good. We did breakfast there one morning, the chocolate chip pancakes were really good. And we did dinner there one evening, and everything was pretty good. (🌟🌟BONUS POINTS!!!🌟🌟: For being one of maybe JUST A COUPLE of B&B's in the White Mountain region that actually accepts pretty much all pets, especially cats! We brought along our cat, and she was living her best life the time we were there! She really loved the view as well.) NEGATIVES (And I really hate to point out the negatives because overall, I actually really do like the place. And believe me when I say, the positives actually outweigh the negatives!): There's no elevator lifts or ramps. So, if your room is on the top floor, you'll have to lug everything up and/or down like 3 sets of stairs, and possibly have to do it in multiple trips if you pack heavy like us. (Which, I suppose that's kind of the price you pay if you want a fridge in your room.) The power kept flickering on and off. The Internet was a bit screwy, so we had to use our Hotspot and /or Mobile Data pretty much the whole time we were there. The fridge to our room had a bit of a foul odor to it. And the bathroom was a bit cramped. Our stay was pretty pleasant for the most part overall. I would definitely return just on the sole purpose of all the positives. Not sure about doing 4 nights again, but certainly maybe 2 or 3.
