Hotel is great. Rooms are quiet and comfy. Service and bar is excellent. However, deducting 1 star due to parking situation. They will not pre inform about parking until you reach there and then you get to know that you have to use valet parking or else charges will be doubled. For a 4-star hotel, having no parking/paid parking should automatically reduce 1 star.

The main theme of this review is that this Westin hotel is not worth your money at the prices you pay. The exterior of the hotel is nice and it is centrally located in Annapolis and right next to some really nice restaurants, which were very enjoyable. The room is fine and nothing to necessarily write home about but I did notice the sink was cracked/damaged during my stay. Usually I wouldn’t expect to see something like that at a Westin. Nothing too critical for the stay. The service is extremely lackluster at this location. Specifically the dining room/bar. The bar/dining area was not even at 50% capacity when I visited. There were two bartenders/servers and one floor manager. The logistics of these individuals performing their duties made absolutely no sense. Both bartenders/servers are running food service, making drinks, and taking orders with almost no coordination. Wouldn’t you want one senior bartender to stay at the bar and focus on drinks/serving bar attendees while the floor manager and other server run food service and take table orders? It took my partner and I roughly 30 minutes before being able to place an order at the bar for two drinks. We were sitting at the bar the whole time. Then roughly another hour for one more drink order and then another 25 minutes to pay our bill (the bill was sitting with the credit card visible for those 25 minutes before I had to grab the attention of the floor manager, not the bartender/server because they were busy covering down random orders/food service/etc.). On top of that, our bill came back over 2x the cost of what we actually ordered. Apparently one of our servers/bartenders placed a high tiered bottle of champagne on our bill. We had this corrected after they had swiped the card because the receipt we had at first was different than what we got back with the card/check. How that happens, I surely do not know. Especially when the bar/dining area isn’t busy. Finally, the parking. I use valet service often and I do realize hotels/resorts often contract with local parking garages. I am now dealing with being charged twice for parking because the garage they use has an AI/camera sensing parking system. Because my vehicle is recognized by this system based on previous travel, this system charged me for parking in their garage even though I paid for valet parking along with having a valet check card on my dash from check in. I am having to dispute the second charge on my account due to the inability of this system to recognize that my car was checked/paid with valet services. Word of warning, if you have signed up with the Metropolis parking pay system, you will likely be charged if your valet didn’t properly check your vehicle into the system. All that said, spend your money elsewhere. It’ll go further and you likely will have a better/less stressful experience.
