The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious. It's not suitable for Muslims because the dry toilets lack jet showers, making istinja difficult.

On this trip to Nanjing, I decided to stay at a different hotel near Xuanwu Lake and chose The Westin Nanjing Xuanwu Lake Hotel. 📍 Location Highlights The location is definitely one of its biggest strengths. The hotel is right across from Xuanwu Lake, and it only takes about 5–10 minutes on foot to reach the lakeside — perfect for a morning or evening walk. There is also a metro station (Xuanwumen, Line 1) directly downstairs, which makes getting around the city extremely convenient. The hotel is connected to Jinmao Plaza, offering a wide variety of restaurants and shops, including a large Apple Store, which is a nice bonus. 🏨 Check-in & Facilities The concierge and reception are located on Level 23, where you check in before heading to your room. This setup means all guest rooms are on high floors, offering either city views or lake views, depending on the room type. The gym is located on Level 9 and is sufficient for a regular workout. 🛏️ Room Experience The hotel is not new, but it is reasonably well maintained. The room size is quite generous, which makes the stay comfortable. However, I did notice a cigar/smoke smell at the elevator lobby on some floors, which might be a downside for sensitive guests. ✨ Overall Thoughts If you value location, convenience, and views, this Westin is still a solid choice in Nanjing. Just keep in mind that it feels more classic than modern.
