The Wind Hotel

I read a lot of reviews, and many people gave it only one star, so I decided to stay here because it was New Year's Eve, and I didn't think anywhere else would be available. Surprisingly, there were vacancies, but they were almost sold out. I checked in, trying not to demand too much, just a place to sleep. The result was as many reviews described. However, for me and my family, no one felt it was too bad. The bidet spray was like a fire hose, but I managed to adjust it to a more manageable level. The showerhead sprayed over my head; short people could barely shower, but my family prefers holding the hose. The sink faucet was loose, requiring two hands to turn. There was no place to put the soap bottle, so I had to leave it on the floor while showering. There were no towel hangers, no exhaust fan in the bathroom, and only one chair. The door closer was annoyingly loud. In total, there were about 10 expected shortcomings, and probably in almost every room. But for me, considering the price and overall cleanliness, it wasn't terrible. I guess I've stayed in far worse places before. The owner advised me to keep things simple. During a meal together, I got the idea that when you go on vacation, you shouldn't demand too much. It worked. Luckily, I read the reviews beforehand. As many people have written, it's easier to accept the situation. The worst incident was probably a guest, whether Thai or foreign, who had a mental breakdown. It was likely the annoying doorbell signal from the next room, with doors being opened and closed late at night. One room opened, then another. If it's late at night, it's possible to not be able to sleep. But my family wasn't bothered. Maybe one person, like that night, had a breakdown. They left the door open for a while, then slammed it shut, shaking the whole building. They probably did this about 20 times, totaling an hour. Many guests must have been unable to sleep that night because of this outburst. Besides those who were completely exhausted, all you could do was wait for them to stop. What happened made me realize that there probably aren't any security guards here. At night, there are only two staff members. So they prioritize security by using key cards for room access and rely on guests to look out for each other. A foreigner having a mental breakdown is frightening for Thai people, but for me, substandard security guards are also scary; they could be a threat themselves. Luckily, there are many Thai guests, so the security concerns are less. However, no matter who is making a fuss or is dissatisfied with something, they can't really do anything to us. At most, they can just make noise. People who tend to make a fuss when things don't go their way might have a mental breakdown if they stay here, especially those who demand more than they pay for. Overall, this place has many good points, particularly in terms of peace and quiet, location, parking, breakfast, and cleanliness. While there are many drawbacks, none are serious, but it might not be suitable for women traveling alone.

As soon as I opened the room door, it smelled amazing! The room was very clean, the air conditioning was very cold, and the bed was huge and comfortable. The towels were soft, fluffy, and smelled great too. Breakfast was a set meal for each person, including both rice porridge and other breakfast items. There was a huge portion of salad, I couldn't finish it all, what a waste! 😄 -Toast, fresh milk, and orange juice were unlimited refills.

Don’t waste your money on this place. Electricity was off. Wifi non-existent. No bedside lamps, no chairs on the balcony. Key card didn’t work to turn the electricity on. Nice view, and the Soi dog out front was friendlier than the front desk staff by a long stretch. Any ฿500 guest house at Pratamnak will get you something better, friendlier, and more comfortable than this place. 1-star at best. We left immediately and went home to Bangkok. Never again. B
