Great spot to relax - plenty to do on the property or just do nothing. Lots of baby plains game when we were there. Went for a game drive, and some walks. Fabulous food if you decide to not self cater with friendly staff and warm and engaging hosts. Nothing to fault and plenty to praise

Tomchaju has been incredibly relaxing! Even though we had loads of rain we had a wonderful stay! The Bush Cottage features its own pool, Braai area, fire place, fully equipped kitchen, two bedrooms and bathroom. The entire crew (Management, staff, Chef) did an amazing job! Thank you! Our stay at Tomjachu Bush Retreat was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, the check-in process was seamless and stress-free thanks to Sandy and Charles, who made us feel genuinely welcomed. Every member of staff we encountered was incredibly friendly, responsive, and always willing to help, even suggesting activities around the area to ensure we had the ultimate adventurous experience. One of the highlights of our stay was the morning game drive with Jason. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate, sharing fascinating insights about the animals, trees, indigenous fruits, herbs, and the overall ecosystem within the nature reserve. It truly deepened our appreciation of the bush and made the experience unforgettable. When our car got stuck on a muddy gravel road, Ross came to our rescue without a single complaint, going above and beyond to help us. Throughout our stay, all the staff consistently looked out for our safety and comfort, which made us feel completely at ease. Our cottage was neat, tidy, and well-prepared, with plenty of wood to keep it warm and cosy — perfect for bush evenings. The food was absolutely delicious, with breakfast being our favourite meal of the day, enjoyed while overlooking a breathtaking view that made every morning special. The cherry on top was the romantic dinner for two that the team set up for us. Although we had initially hoped for a busier dinner experience, the weather didn’t allow it. Sandy, Ross, and the rest of the staff went out of their way to create something just as intimate and memorable, and it exceeded our expectations. Thank you to all the staff at Tomjachu Bush Retreat for creating such a thoughtful, warm, and unforgettable experience. We truly can’t wait to return.
