I’m extremely disappointed with my recent stay at TownePlace Suites by Marriott Portland Vancouver. Serious issue with rewards – We booked the stay using points, but the hotel not only deducted the points, they also deducted our free night award (up to 85k points) without any notification. We only found out when we tried to use the award later and discovered it missing. We then had to contact Marriott support to figure out what happened. Lack of transparency about pet fees – We didn’t originally plan to bring our pet when booking, but ended up doing so. Even then, the front desk failed to clearly explain the pet fee and additional cleaning fee amounts at check-in. These charges only appeared on the final bill. Regardless of circumstances, guests deserve upfront information on all fees. Unexpected charge for bottled water – We picked up two bottles of water directly from the front desk. No one mentioned they weren’t complimentary, so as Platinum Elite members we assumed they were free (as they often are at other Marriott properties). Instead, we later discovered an unexplained $7+ charge. Overall, this stay created unnecessary frustration and felt far below Marriott standards. Between undisclosed charges and mishandling of my rewards, I cannot recommend this property.

Overall just a great hotel to stay at. Very nice staff clean rooms and facility. All around the hotel there are plenty of areas to walk around with a big park area behind it which is also very clean. Plenty of shopping and food options around.
