Tradewinds Apartment Hotel

Our check in time was supposed to be 4pm. We arrive and check in at 3:55pm....just to be told that our room wasnt ready and they needed more time.....not what we wanted to hear, so off to dinner we go.... The check in process was fast and easy...and the young lady behind the counter was pleasant. Room was handicapped accessible, not that we requested that, but very spacious. Clean and well stocked. Hotel provided body, shampoo, and conditioner in the shower and hand wash and lotion at the sink. The toilet handle was stripped, but we made it work....as of this posting, we havent checked out and have not informed them of that issue. Location was walking distance to the beach and there is a pool in site, but we didnt use it. There are restaurants within walking distance. As you can see from the darker pic, there is a clear line of site from the rear door to the bed, with the curtain completely closed. Our room faced the main road but it was not loud or noisy. Bed was comfortable but the pillows left something to be desired. There is a weighted comforter on the bed that made sleeping nice and cozy. Property is well maintained. Electrical outlets are sparce and I would recommend a 10' charging cord.

🇧🇷Frustrating experience for those traveling with children I traveled to Miami with my family — me, my wife, and my 2-year-old daughter — and unfortunately, we had a very negative experience right upon arrival at the Tradewinds Apartment Hotel. I informed them at the time of booking that we would arrive very early, after an overnight flight. Our flight left São Paulo at 11 PM, and we arrived at the hotel around 7 AM. Upon arrival, I requested the possibility of early check-in, even making it clear that I was willing to pay the early check-in fee. From the moment I arrived at the reception, I saw several guests checking out, which shows that my situation could have been resolved with priority, especially since we were with a baby. Even so, the attendant Elias showed no empathy or effort to help. I explained that we were exhausted, with a small child needing a bathroom, a change of clothes, and diapers, but I was treated with total indifference. We waited from 7 am to 10 am, when he asked us to leave and come back later. We returned at 2 pm, and still no room had been prepared, despite check-outs having taken place early in the morning. Only at 3 pm were we finally able to check in. In practice, my baby only managed to use a proper bathroom at 3 pm, which I consider unacceptable after such a long overnight flight. The hotel itself is not bad, but the service was extremely poor and completely compromised our experience. In addition, the hotel is not suitable for those traveling with children: There is no accessibility for strollers (stairs to access the reception and the apartments); The reception bathroom is tiny and does not have a changing table or adequate space for diaper changing. For all these reasons, I do not recommend Tradewinds for families with babies or young children. In practical terms, my baby was only able to properly use a bathroom at 3:00 PM, which is unacceptable after such a long overnight journey. The hotel itself is not bad, but the front desk service was extremely poor and completely ruined our experience. Additionally, the hotel is not suitable for families with young children: There is no stroller accessibility (stairs to access the reception and the apartments); The reception bathroom is very small and does not have a baby changing table or proper space to change a child. For these reasons, I do not recommend this hotel to families traveling with babies or young children. With a minimum level of empathy and organization, this situation could have been easily avoided.
