Travelodge Newquay Seafront

Unfortunately appalling service from the travel lodge as a whole. We booked a stay for our childs birthday at the weekend and four days before our arrival they cancel our stay with the reason being that the roof had been damaged of the hotel and our room had been also then damaged but slipped themselves up by telling us that we could book our stay for the night before and still have the same room we were told that was damaged nothing added up. We were then met with a EXTREMELY rude manger and we were basically told tuff luck. So sad to be saying that we will never be staying with the travel lodge in any circumstances and would not recommend either.

Arrived for a night away with a friend Saturday (24/1/26) we had arrived in Newquay early so decided to see if a early check in was possible, we then waited for 20 minutes for someone to arrive in reception who was lovely however was going tj charge us £20 early check in fee so we had to wait until 2pm to check in to avoid check in fee which meant walking around with our luggage for almost 2hours Upon entering our room (double and single bed family room) the single bed was merely big enough for a child so me and my friend had to share the double bed, which had hairs and holes all over the bedding The overall cleanliness was awful (this coming from the daughter of a professional cleaner) there was hairs all over the sink and the shower, the shower was still soaking wet and there was multiple stains on the bedding too There was only a few hangers for clothing so our belongings were left on the floor and the mirror wasn’t in line with the desk there was no lock on the bathroom door and the tv was tiny and hardly worked unless we wanted the children’s channels on We also noticed that when we’d go out and come back out heating would have gone down or turned off completely meaning our room was very cold a lot of the time There was also only one plug socket through the whole room and only usb sockets by the bed and the light had to be turned on by turning 2 switches which were at opposite sides of the room just to turn a light on xx We went downstairs three times that evening to get food ect and there was no one in reception either of the times we went down so couldn’t complain We then checked out the next morning and was greeted by a very rude receptionist who told us we should have complained last night after we’d explained no one was in reception the previous night. I’ve since called the phone number provided with my booking confirmation email to be met with another rude and unhelpful lady on the phone who “well you need to go online and complain then” and then proceeded to hang up on me. We had a decent sea view however the windows were extremely dirty Overall I wouldn’t recommend and I definitely wont be staying again.
