Tropicana Resort

Good location – in the town center, but away from the noisy street. Room with a sea view – great view. Quite a nice garden. Unfortunately, there are more downsides. There are tons of ants on the terrace and in the room, literally everywhere. The walls are dirty. All the furnishings are visibly old. The hotel staff is unfriendly and uninvolved. Breakfast is poor; food isn't refilled, and ants are crawling around the food. We skipped it during our stay because it wasn't worth the price. The beach is not well-maintained, the sunbeds are packed tightly together, and there's little privacy. Overall, this hotel is filthy and dirty everywhere. We paid a lot for this hotel, almost as much as a 5-star hotel on the island, and the value for money certainly leaves much to be desired. It might be okay for a lower price, but it's definitely not worth spending more money here. I won't be back.

The Tropicana Resort on Phu Quoc unfortunately didn't live up to expectations. The hotel is quite old, and it's evident everywhere – dirty walls, worn-out furnishings, and ants were infesting the room. Overall, it feels like a place that hasn't been updated in a while. The price is definitely too high for the standard offered. If it were much cheaper (say, 1/3 of the current price), the experience would be completely different, but as it is, it leaves a slight aftertaste. The breakfast was rather average, and the service was decent, but lacking in any real commitment. The hotel's beach isn't impressive either – a bit neglected, with sunbeds spaced very close together, making privacy difficult. Russian guests predominate, often smoking and drinking on the sunbeds, which may not be to everyone's liking. The location is definitely a plus – it's truly excellent. Furthermore, the hotel is more for the undemanding traveler or for a much lower price.

The hotel is SUPER! Quiet, well-maintained, cozy, and warm. We booked the Deluxe Garden room, the cheapest from the tour operator. We were given a room on the second floor with a garden view, including the sea and a bit of the bungalow roof. The room itself is very spacious, with a large bed, a modern bathroom, plumbing, and a shower. Everything worked, including the hairdryer, which was in excellent condition. Toothbrushes, toothpaste, swabs, soap, gel, shampoo, toilet paper, and water were constantly replenished. Towels and bed linen were changed. Cups, a kettle, coffee, and tea were provided. The TV worked, with a Russian channel, and Wi-Fi was available throughout the property at good speed. A safe and refrigerator were both in working order and free of charge. The balcony was large and comfortable, perfect for relaxing. Breakfasts are good: omelets, fried eggs, bacon, sausages, pelmeni-style rolls, potatoes, rice, soup, delicious yogurt, fruit… The pool is warm, clean, and quiet, with a restroom and shower nearby. There's a gym. There were always free sun loungers on the beach. The sea was clean, warm, and spotless. Overall, the hotel is EXCELLENT, the staff is FRIENDLY, the beach is COMFORTABLE, the crowd is ADEQUATE and QUIET. There are tons of cafes and shops nearby, and all the amenities are also close by. I give the hotel a 6 out of 5. I really hope vacationers take good care of their property and surroundings, so that the hotels will retain their beauty and comfort for longer.
