Tropitel Dahab Oasis Resort

Everything was great. The entertainers were fun and worked hard. Showtime was always fun. I liked the food. Mosquito nets in the room would be helpful—you open them for a minute in the evening and spend half the night running around catching them.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Tropitel Dahab. We had a rental car and usually prefer to explore off the beaten path, but with this hotel, we felt we'd made the right choice. The location is fantastic, not just because of the coral reef. For me, Dahab was too touristy, too exhausting for a family. The food at the hotel was excellent (it's not the huge, wasteful buffet you find in other hotels), and there was always a variety of really good salads and vegetables. None of us got sick. The hotel might be a little worn in some places, but that didn't bother us at all: we'd much rather have an old, timelessly beautiful Volvo than a new Opel with plastic bumpers, or real marble countertops in the room and perhaps crooked old wooden doors than trendy plastic veneer furnishings! (That's why I can understand the criticism of the hotel's cooking.) Besides the location, food, and rooms, the animation team was fantastic. They were engaging but not intrusive and dedicated themselves wholeheartedly to the guests and our two children (6 and 9 years old) every single day. The staff is absolutely excellent, which is certainly due to the management. Here, after the vacationers have left, the employees, regardless of their position or role, eat the same food in the same dining room as the guests. I appreciate that; it shows how the staff is treated. It was also an advantage for a family that the hotel wasn't too huge. All in all: it couldn't have been better. Especially for the price. Oh yes: the fitness room is a bit shabby, but weight is weight. A few kettlebells and better exercise mats would be nice. But that's the only drawback. And yes, we did have a few mosquitoes, but that's just nature, and I'm glad they don't bite anything nasty. Thanks to the team, from the chambermaids to the receptionists to the manager!

I don't understand the reviews. The hotel is in a catastrophic state. Unfortunately, you have to make a lot of compromises at this hotel. All-inclusive isn't always all-inclusive. So, if you want a nice vacation, this is the wrong hotel. Unfortunately, our tour guide wasn't helpful either. He just told us he was rebooking us because the hotel didn't want us there anymore anyway. So, if you don't expect much for your money, then it's fine. I just want to spare you the experience.
