Trovador City Guest House

I stayed at this accommodation for the fourth time, as previous experiences had been good. This time it didn't go well. In the morning there was no hot water to shower. After several attempts, I decided to call reception. No one answered. I left the room and went to a nearby building where breakfast is served to look for a solution. An employee suggested I shower in another building of the guest house, which we didn't accept due to the inconvenience. Meanwhile, we realized that other guests had the same problem. At check-out, I expressed my dissatisfaction to the receptionist and, regrettably, I was neither offered nor given any compensation for not being able to shower. I was unhappy with how the issue was handled, especially considering that I had stayed here 4 times in the last year. I felt they have no consideration for their customers. I will not return.

It was a huge disappointment. I was there this weekend with my wife and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. It started at reception. The receptionist was unfriendly; we felt like she was doing us a favor. She gave us two keys without explaining what they were for. Only when we returned to the hotel after dinner did we realize that one of them was for opening the main door, as there was no one at reception to do it. We stayed two nights in room 14: the shower stall in the bathroom was very low, and while showering, the water leaked out from under the shower stall; the shower door didn't open or close properly; the shower had no hot/cold settings; the bathroom trash can was just an open straw basket with a bag inside; instead of being a double bed, the bed was two single mattresses pushed together; the room had poor natural and artificial lighting; the balcony offered no visibility to the street, only a wall of the adjacent building; the heating system was installed there, emitting an annoying and continuous noise 24 hours a day, making it difficult to sleep, and it was impossible to open the window. Regarding cleanliness, when we entered the room there were some hairs from previous guests still on the floor, which remained until our departure. After the first night, the room was not cleaned; the three staff members only made the bed with the same sheets, poorly made, and the pillows placed haphazardly. They didn't replenish the water in the pitcher, the tea bags, or the coffee, and left the trash from our previous use on the counter. We had to ask reception to rectify this. Regarding breakfast, it was served in a separate building far from the main one, without any roof or connection between them, forcing guests to cross the street. The food was rationed, with staff constantly circulating among the guests to monitor and control what was being served. On the second day, for example, the available pastries were broken in half, and we didn't feel comfortable eating what we wanted. At check-out, there was no one at reception to receive the keys, say goodbye, or thank the guests; several simply left their keys on the counter, making the farewell impersonal.

October 2025. Terrible service and attention at reception. Not recommended at all due to the "attention" (if you can even call it that) from the staff. The room was damaged. The only redeeming feature is the location. However, it was impossible to sleep at night because of the noise from people drinking. I won't be back.
