TUI MAGIC LIFE Cala Pada - All Inclusive

Never again: The accommodation is very outdated and often looks neglected. The staff regularly made guests feel like they were bothering them. It was really pushing the boundaries. The food was sometimes so bad it was unbelievable. Conclusion: I can't understand how TUI can tolerate such a hotel.

Fabulous hotel, located near two tourist towns with easy access to Ibiza Town as well. The staff were all amazing, food was good choices every day and the entertainment was fantastic too. Would definitely return in the future. WiFi was available everywhere.

Typical all-inclusive hell, if that's your thing. We chose this hotel because it was the only one we could book spontaneously that offered two-bedroom apartments. Initially, we had an absolutely terrible room (right next to the restaurant; on one side, it was noisy and smelly from the air conditioning units on the roof of the restaurant/lobby, and on the other side, there was unbearable noise from the evening shows – I really don't understand how anyone can enjoy listening to that "boom boom boom" until 10:30 pm or later). After complaining, however, we were given a different room in the center of the complex, which is significantly quieter. Kudos to the management. The rooms are reasonably clean; someone more fastidious than us would probably find fault. The beds were okay, nothing more, definitely not four-star standard – I'm used to box-spring beds by now. The pillow was poor, more like a neck roll; I see room for improvement there. Bathroom and toilet: I can't imagine it was renovated in 2015; it's very worn. Everything is very noisy, and it got quite cold at night (the heating wasn't working, or we were too clueless to adjust it). The Wi-Fi works perfectly throughout the complex, and streaming is no problem either. The staff are all very helpful, no doubt about it. The food was okay, with a cafeteria feel, but to be expected. There was a good selection, including gluten-free and vegan options, all clearly labeled. The big advantage of the complex (and the second reason we booked) is the facilities for children. A great pool area, two small slides in the children's pool and family pool (the temperature was rather cold, the sign said 22°C, but it felt more like 20°C; this was the last week of October), and a "sports pool" which should be heated (the sign said 26°C). We were very disappointed with Cala Pada beach; it's certainly not one of the nicer beaches in Ibiza, to put it mildly. I would definitely recommend a rental car, at least for active vacationers who don't want to end up with bedsores after seven days. It's rather unimportant, but I'm mentioning it because we used it: there are washing machines and dryers, but €10 is quite steep. In conclusion: for independent travelers, this is a difficult compromise to accept and only recommended for the off-season. A rental car is essential; you can relatively easily find free parking on a side street. It's great for a week of sunbathing in October, but I wouldn't want to go there during peak season.
