Fantastic hotel, a bit dated, but the rooms are being modernized, scheduled for completion at the end of February 2026. Very friendly staff, helpful to the elderly among us. Both breakfast and dinner are excellent. Many lovely cafes and a beautiful beach.

I stayed at two hotels in Monte Gordo, one at the Vasco da Gama and the other at the Yellow. The first one, at the time called Vasco da Gama, had a different name and I give it 5 stars. However, at the other hotel, I had a big problem. Someone entered my room and stole my credit card and my national identity card, causing me a lot of headaches. It happened on my second day at the hotel. I had to spend money and time to cancel the credit card and request a new one. Unfortunately, I had to go to Lisbon, which took a whole day to get the new card. The bank gave me a temporary card until I received a new one, and I couldn't spend more than €200 because the card wouldn't work. Anyway, when I got home at the end of my vacation, the bank statement showed that some money had been spent on the card. If I hadn't cancelled it, it would have been even more. At the end of my vacation, I paid by bank transfer. Nobody at the hotel had the courtesy to apologize. Many people passed through the hotel who weren't guests or Yellow employees; they just came to see if they could steal anything. At reception, nobody said anything or asked for identification. I only had a good experience. I am grateful for the attention and service provided by Vasco da Gama.
