The room itself was clean, comfortable, and exactly what you expect from a Marriott. However, a few small but important details didn’t match typical Marriott standards. At the pool, there were no clean towels available. We asked the front desk, and they said housekeeping would bring some out, but none ever arrived. We ended up having to walk back to our room wet, which shouldn’t happen at a full-service property. There were not extra towels in the room that could be brought to the pool. Another issue was the refillable body wash container in the shower, it was completely empty. If the hotel is moving toward refillable amenities, they need to ensure they’re actually maintained. Empty containers give the impression of a lack of attention to guest experience. Overall, the stay was fine, but these small touches matter, especially for a Marriott-branded property. With a bit more attention to detail, this hotel could easily deliver the level of quality guests expect.

The overall experience of this hotel is pretty good. It's a short walk to the beach, a short drive to 101, has a lot of food options nearby, and the room is comfortable. The devil is in the details and there are some opportunities for this hotel to polish up. First, the lounge is only available during the week (you won't find snacks on Friday night) and as far as lounge food goes though, it's pretty good, if a little simple and limited for this size hotel. Second, you won't be offer a bottle of water when you check in, there won't be one in your room, nor will there be any in the lounge. If you want water, buy it in the lobby (or bring it). It's been a long time since I've been to a Marriott that sleeps on this minor detail. Third, when you end up in the restaurant, the bench seats are low for the table. You'll feel like a kid again, reaching up to your food. Some of the experiences other reviewers had about cleanliness weren't my experience. Everything I saw was clean and well taken care of. Lounge, common areas, rooms were all immaculate. The staff I encountered at the desk, in the lounge, the restaurant, and housekeeping were all delightful. Overall, it's a good experience.
