Ventus Ha at Marina El Cid Spa & Beach Resort - All Inclusive

Unfortunately, my stay at Ventus Marina has been horrible, and I am still currently staying at the resort at the time of writing this review. From the moment I arrived, the staff was not welcoming! There have been multiple ongoing issues that have significantly impacted my experience. Dining has been one of the most problematic aspects of this resort. Restaurant reservations can only be secured two days in advance, even before you arrive. However, when attempting to make reservations within that window, there is often no staff available at the front desk to assist, or dining reservations are fully booked for the next two days, leaving no available time slots. As a result, guests are forced to rely on the buffet, which is of very, very poor quality. In terms of food quality, Kobo was the only restaurant that was decent. The remaining dining options were far below expectations in both quality and execution. Portions were extremely small, selection was limited, and the food did not reflect the level or value advertised by the resort. Cleanliness has also been an issue. Pool areas have not been properly maintained and have appeared dirty during my stay, making them uninviting. Service across the resort has been poor. Many staff members have been unfriendly and unsupportive, and there has been little to no follow-up when concerns are raised. In particular, the staff member (female during the day) responsible for handling dining reservations was rude and dismissive. When I raised my concerns to her supervisor, she offered no response or feedback, did not acknowledge the issues, and avoided any direct engagement, including eye contact. This interaction felt unprofessional and dismissive. The hotel supervisor at the time, Paulina Jimenez, did not care or provided support. I also escalated these concerns to the concierge supervisor, Victor Hugo, and was advised that nothing could be done to assist me further, despite the fact that I am still currently staying at the resort. Additionally, the Wi-Fi policy was extremely frustrating and poorly handled. Guests are required to either pay $60 per device for Wi-Fi access or attend a so-called 90-minute presentation in order to receive Wi-Fi without additional charge. In my case, this presentation (time share selling) lasted more than three hours (made me loose a whole day), despite my clearly stating from the beginning that I was already unhappy with my experience at the resort. Compounding this issue was the lack of reliable cellular service. Even when roaming access was enabled, I was still unable to place calls to the United States. Throughout the resort, cellular service was unreliable or unavailable, including when international roaming was turned on as they are jamming the cell phone signal. As a result, I had no dependable way to make calls, which created unnecessary stress and made it difficult to communicate with family or handle personal matters. This situation felt particularly inappropriate given that access to basic communication appeared to be tied to paid Wi-Fi or attendance at a lengthy sales presentation. What was presented as a brief informational session became a significant disruption to my vacation. While a few staff members have shown kindness and professionalism, the overall experience has been extremely disappointing. For the price paid, I expected significantly better service, transparency, food quality, and guest care. Finally, while transportation from the airport to the resort was provided, the resort was unable to offer transportation back to the airport. This remained the case even after I raised multiple concerns and requested assistance as a courtesy due to the ongoing issues experienced during my stay. No alternative solution or accommodation was offered. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this resort, nor would I come back!
