A quiet, new (or recently renovated) small hotel in Ascea with spacious rooms, located within walking distance of the beach and the Velia archaeological site. The friendly, helpful host, Laura, speaks German without an accent and provides guests with tips on the surrounding area. She easily and spontaneously organized a guided tour of the Velia excavations for us. The breakfast leaves nothing to be desired, even when there are fewer guests during the off-season. Charging the e-bike was also incredibly easy.

Couple's trip in July. It was supposed to be a week, but instead we extended it to 9 nights. We booked a studio apartment with a fully equipped kitchenette and a beautiful terrace (with a view of the pool and the stunning palm trees surrounding it!) equipped with all the comforts, a table, chairs, and a drying rack. Everything was new and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was delicious, complete with everything, especially the selection of delicious desserts. There were delicious croissants in various flavors, biscuits, and homemade cakes/pies that were always changing. For example, the homemade pancake (which we had with chocolate), which is rare to find. I, who crave cappuccino with almond milk, even found that!!! In short, a 5-star breakfast. A special mention goes to the pool with its well-stocked bar for lunch or relaxing with a drink (for my diet, I ordered a variety of delicious mixed salads!). The large, immaculately clean pool has plenty of loungers available for total relaxation in the shade of spectacular palm trees swaying in the sea breeze. At certain times, we enjoyed it alone, lying on the loungers and looking up, it felt like we were in the Caribbean. The sea is very close, about 300 meters of pleasant walking. So, thank you to those who run this place: Laura and Pietro, for making this a wonderful week for us. They also gave us valuable advice on places to visit and where to dine. Thank you, too, for their company and that of Mr. Antonio. A special thanks to Pietro, who helped us with everything we needed, a car problem. In short, when you decide to go to Cilento, Villa Laura is highly recommended.
