Village Hotel Manchester Ashton

Been going here for 6+ years, the current management is the worst its even been,the women who manages the place doesn't give a hoot they had a young man who used to run the place who was decent but still not fantastic, the sauna and steam room are filthy, I hide a bottle top under the seat that was there for months there is black mold all under the wooded benches in the sauna the steam room smells like sewage and water logs where you sit so you sit in people sweat because it doesn't drain off, the gym is chaos trying to find matching dumbbells is like playing a mini game scattered from pillar to post, 6 years ago the 50kg dumbbell broke and still hasn't been replaced, the machines are constantly out of order same with the sauna and steam room, they installed a cold plunge that has had an out of order sticker for the last 2 months, the steel grate that produces steam has black gunk on it all the time its rank, the overhead steam release it caked with blackness its beyond filthy, and if your a women be prepared for the men to stare you down they cant help themself i did specify what group of men im talking about but it wont let me post it if target this ethnic group so ill let you do the guess work, the Jacuzzi has build up of the edges its slimy you can feel it on your feet, the toilets and urinals stink of strong urine and are full of chewing gum, the men shave in the sinks and leave all there beard hair I have pulled a few of them I bet you can guess who they are usual suspects, I cant talk for the women's side but I have caught multiple men cutting their toe nails on the benches in the mens changing rooms, people urinate in the showers they stink , you can hear people spitting in there as well once again guess who the same men gorping on the women in the sauna steam room, if you want to cancel your membership its 3 months notice or you pay upfront to break out of your contract its the worst its ever been so I had to write this review because I'm paying almost £60 a month for this its unacceptable.

Been going to this village Ashton using the fitness club now for 7+years, I have to say this is the worst condition I have seen it & the worst management there has been so far.. the sauna is consistently broken for one thing or another ,waiting weeks for it to be fixed, the steam room is full of black mould, the seats in the steam room are slimy to sit on and I can honestly say I have never seen a member of staff come in a clean the steam room or sauna with such a high turn over this should be done on a regular basis, when I have spoken to staff members about this I was told it’s cleaned once at night… if you like a swim prepare to have bits hitting your feet the corners of the pool always have build up in them pile’s of dirt and debre and when questioning the staff on it they say it is from that day, the jacuzzi pool is just as bad the rails to go down the steps are slimy and the amount of chlorine used burns your eyes, I have seen staff members sweep the dirty pool side water back into the actual swimming pool instead of the drain provided & to top it of as a women you are stared at by seedy men whilst trying to enjoy some peace. The gym is a mess…equipment everywhere dumbbells missing and overly busy at peak time to the point your lucky to get a machine since the gym has been refurbished the footfall is ridiculous I understand they have to make their money back but the other amenities have not been improved for the amount of people currently attending the gym. Village you have well and truly become a disappointment but sadly you lock people into contracts, even when you have a rolling contract you need to give 3 months notice to cancel this is ridiculous your a money making greedy company! standards are low, staff blatantly have no hygiene training and the place is falling to bits 60 pound a month to potentially catch a disease 🦠

Only come for an event night which had an offer on the price luckily. Definitely wouldn’t pay anymore, the event room is nice and staff are friendly. Food is edible. Unfortunately the DJ is just far too loud with zero warning, the hotel looks like a building site, and I will await the parking ticket for having to park on the pub carpark next door due to a severe lack of parking. Overall not impressed and wouldn’t rush to recommend.
