Spartan, as a former Olympic Village should be, but well-organized, and the staff are always courteous. The aperitif at the bar is a bit pricey (a €9 Spritz with two cornflakes on the side is unacceptable, and it's cheaper at the chalet in Campo Smith). Close to the slopes and very convenient.

The place is beautiful and in a good location, very close to the highway and the ski slopes, but really well kept, with very little maintenance, a place for fifteen year olds on their first holiday and not for families, at night the kids made noise until 3 in the morning, the food, both in terms of variety and quality, very poor, for one night it is even acceptable but for more time no.

Stayed at Villaggio Olimpico and I’m still not entirely sure what I experienced… but somehow it was the best week of my life. Imagine a 1960s Olympic training camp that time politely forgot. Concrete everywhere. Brutalist chic. The sort of place you expect Rocky to be doing hill sprints at 5am. And yet, instead of elite athletes, it’s been reborn as the spiritual home of school ski trips. The layout? An architectural escape room. Endless corridors. Random empty rooms. Doors that may or may not lead anywhere. At one point I was convinced we’d discovered a restricted Cold War bunker. You don’t find your room — your room finds you. Top tip: do not leave your balcony door open. Unless, of course, you’d enjoy the authentic experience of a French teenager appearing on your balcony at midnight like a parkour-based jump scare. The pool was “closed” — which did surprise the staff, considering there’s an 8-foot trench where water presumably once lived. A bold design choice. Food-wise, prepare to carbo-load like you’re about to compete in the Winter Games. Pasta. More pasta. Then just in case, extra pasta. By day three you are 78% penne. The staff? Delightfully unhinged in the best possible way. You have to respect the energy it takes to operate this fever dream of a facility. Objectively chaotic. Logistically questionable. Structurally confusing. Would I go back? Immediately
