I do not recommend this hotel. From the beginning, communication with their representative (Amanda) was unclear and dishonest regarding cancellation policies, refunds, and possible solutions for unforeseen circumstances. We were traveling from the United States, and the hotel never informed us about the new visa requirement for entering Brazil, despite knowing our country of origin and that this regulation was already in effect. Because of this, part of my family was stranded at the border. Upon arrival at the hotel, the reception staff questioned the emails exchanged with Amanda. They never allowed me to speak with a supervisor or manager, nor did they offer any solutions or consideration. At one point, one of the employees left and then returned saying that he had spoken with the manager, who said there was absolutely nothing they could do for us. We were a group of 15 people with several rooms booked. We were never given any vouchers, neither for my rooms nor for the rooms of the Argentinian citizens. We lost 50% of our payment and felt completely abandoned, with no consideration whatsoever from the hotel. For all these reasons, I believe this hotel falls far short of its 5-star standards and recommend seeking other options that, in the face of real and unforeseen circumstances, at least have the decency to offer an alternative or a voucher for a future stay, instead of leaving guests completely adrift. I do not recommend this hotel.
