I am currently staying at this hotel, and while the property itself is visually impressive and well-maintained, my experience has been significantly impacted by ongoing construction outside the room. The room assigned overlooks an active construction site, where vehicles start work early each morning with constant reversing alarms—occurring every few seconds and involving several machines. This made it impossible to rest in the morning. At check-in, the bathroom exhaust fan was also unusually loud and had to be disconnected, which was unexpected for a hotel in this category. Although the hotel has strong potential, these issues have overshadowed the stay. For a high-end property, I would have expected better room placement given the level of noise from construction

This was the most disappointing hotel experience I've had with Marriott Bonvoy. There was not a single day without issue or frustration. On my first day there was a wedding that was positioned directly in front of my private outdoor space, completely blocking beach access; guests of the wedding entered my private space and left beer bottles and when I reported this to hotel staff via chat in the Bonvoy App, it took more than 1.5 hours with no response so I ended up cleaning the beer bottles myself. Food and beverage issues were nonstop; my lunch was made incorrectly on at least 4 days, I was served severely undercooked food at dinner on two separate occasions. Housekeeping repeatedly came late or not at all. When it came time for check out, the credits that I'd discussed with management as compensation for these issues were not applied and I spent 2 hours of my last day trying to get the bill sorted. I was not given credit for this stay and when I contacted Bonvoy support, I was told that the hotel never provided a folio. Start to finish and every day in between, this stay was a disaster completely inconsistent with the level of service I've come to expect as a Titanium Elite. Not only will I not be returning to the W Punta de Mita, this experience has caused me to reevaluate my loyalty to Bonvoy in general - it was truly that terrible.

The resort is ideally situated in a secluded area of Punta Mita, offering a stunning beachfront setting. The design thoughtfully integrates elements of the beach, lake, and jungle, creating a unique natural ambiance. However, this blend results in a noticeable presence of mosquitoes, wasps, and other insects throughout the property, with limited efforts to maintain insect-free areas, including the pool. The guest rooms, while functional, lack certain upscale (or I would make the case, that these are basic) amenities such as closets, instead providing basic plastic hangers and rods for clothing. The patio features a pleasant swing, although it is uninviting due to debris. Staff members are friendly and approachable, yet service delivery can be considerably slow, often requiring 30 to 60 minutes for requests to be fulfilled. Overall, the resort does not fully meet the standards expected of a luxury beach destination. The on-site dining options consist of a few restaurants, with food quality varying across venues. Overall restaurant service is subpar and inconsistent, occasionally lacking the polish expected at a high-end resort. The limited variety of dining venues further restricts culinary options. This, combined with the service issues, detracts from the overall guest experience and impacts the resort’s claim to a luxury hospitality offering.
