My recent stay at this hotel was extremely disappointing from start to finish. About two hours before check-in, while we were already on the road traveling from out of state to Charlotte, one of the staff members called to tell us that our room had been taken even though we booked this hotel a month and a half in advance. She said she would call back within 15 minutes to resolve the issue, but she never did. We had to call her ourselves, and that’s when she suddenly said, “Oh, we found you a room.” When we arrived, the room we were given was absolutely disgusting. There were roaches (which I have proof of), the linens were dirty and stained, the floors were filthy, and the bathroom sink was broken. The bedrooms were also missing TV remotes, and when we mentioned it to staff, we were told to share one remote between all three rooms. The Wi-Fi didn’t work at all. I honestly don’t know how this place could have possibly won “Best Hotel of the Year,” because it is filled with roaches, filth, and unprofessional people. To make things worse, one of the staff the assistant manger Tara was extremely rude and unprofessional. When she offered for us to come back in the future, we politely said that we would never return, and she responded, “Okay, great.” That level of unprofessionalism is absolutely unacceptable and shows no respect or care for guests. I haven’t seen roaches in years I live in a very nice neighborhood and take pride in cleanliness, so this experience was beyond disturbing. Overall, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I’ve ever had. The room was disgusting, the staff was careless and unprofessional, and the entire experience was unacceptable. I would never recommend this hotel to anyone until serious changes are made in cleanliness, management, and customer service.
