Genuinely wonderful experience

This hotel was a disappointment. If I wasn't there to visit family, it would have ruined the trip. This is definitely not a 4 star hotel/ apartment. Day 1- Dec. 17- I checked into the hotel after travelling 16 hours. They do not have a regular check in desk, but a table which I approached. A couple with their small child immediately got irrate that they had been waiting and I had got in front of them. It's hard to tell if there's a que, with a table. I let them ahead only to over hear how unsatisfied they were with their accommodation. I should have run. There was no heat in my room. Coming from Canada I am used to cold, but this was uncomfortable. I was tired, and there was no easy way of contacting staff, so I put a few layers on and tried to sleep. Day 2-Dec. 18- In the morning I mentioned to the lady staff person sitting at the table that I had no heat. She said they could adjust it by the computer. She came upstairs with me and looked at the settings and said she would go on the computer. That I should wait 20 minutes, and it would be fixed. I left for the day. When I came back, I had no heat. On my way out to dinner I said to another lady sitting at the table, that when I returned I wanted heat even if that meant another blanket or portable heater. Her reponse was that the housekeeping department was closed and she didn't think she could get me a blanket. That night, I had no heat, but I did have an extra blanket. I went onto the Ai generated forum and stated my case. By this time I was pretty furious that they would not do something. Mr. AI said that my request has been qued and someone would attend to it. Not good enough. I asked for a portable heater and was told the furnace room was locked and noone had a key. By some strange reason, the heat kicked in at 2 am. Day 3- Dec. 19- I was ill. My family went to breakfast and activities without me. At 10 am a maintenance man showed up to my room. I explained what had happened and at this point I wanted some comepensation. He said: no adjustments had been made on the computer as lady #1 stated, I should not have been told that housekeeping was closed, the furnace room does not have a key, but a number lock. I explained how unhappy I was. He agreed that my 3 family members and I could have breakfast on the house as compensation. Day 4 -Dec. 20 - I confirmed with man #2 at the table that morning that I will bring my family for breakfast on the house not that day but on the 23rd. It was confirmed Day 6- Dec. 22- I confirmed once again that my family was coming for courtesy breakfast tomorrow. Yes, confirmed. I had a feeling this was goning to be a problem so I kept asking. Day 7- Dec. 23- Check out day. I mentioned to man at the table that my family of 3 and I were coming for breakfast and there was supposed to be no charge. He said, yes he saw it on the sheet. We started to eat when one staff approached a family member and asked about payment. Then a manager type lady approached me and I was livid. I explained to her the story about lack of heat and maintenance man and compensation. She was not very understanding nor empathetic to my problems at the hotel. I lost my appetite and they didn't have to worry about the cost of my breakfast, because I didn't eat. So here's the kicker!! When I returned to my room to get my bags, there was a portable heater sitting in the middle of the room. 7 days later!! 😄 By the way, the safety latch on the door was broken. We left and I returned for 1 night on the Dec. 27. I was shown to a room off the courtyard. It was the size of a closet with no windows except for the glass door facing the courtyard. I would have gone mad if I had stayed there for 7 days. I understand problems occur , but how management handles the problems is what makes a good hotel experience. The rooms here were definitely not cheap, but the experience was. I would not recommend this hotel.

The location is fantastic, and the view of the castle is truly beautiful! A big thank you also to Alex, who made us feel welcome with his friendly and helpful manner. He did everything he could to fulfill our wishes. Thank you so much! :) Dziękuję bardzo ;) We only stayed one night, and almost everything was perfect, except the blinds didn't work. But that didn't bother us for just one night. Otherwise, the apartment was clean and very nicely furnished.
