Woodspring Suites Topeka

We called ahead to make sure there was rooms available because we wouldn’t be checking in til after 1. When we arrived the front lobby it smelt like cigarettes and weed. Then there wasn’t anyone available to check us in. We used the phone on the wall just for some big ole colored gal to come wobbling up and not say anything to us. She went in through the back opened the door and asked my husband for his ID. She then takes 35 minutes to check us in even though we already had a reservation. After we finally get checked in, we go to the elevator and the elevator smells worse of cigarettes. Well, we booked a no smoking room, we managed to go up to the fourth floor and it reeks of cigarettes. We then go to our room and open the door and it’s like you’re sitting there inhaling a whole pack of cigarettes at once. The vents haven’t been cleaned. The room wasn’t clean at all. The floors were sticky. There was scissors, dog hair and cigarette buds in the couch. The bed was stained yellow. The bathroom was dripping with cigarette guitar. That room had never been cleaned. It felt like. We opened up the window to air it out, and had to clean the AC filters because they were black and yellow. We then leave in the morning to go to our event and come back that night. Our key fob wasn’t working and so we had to do it all over again. Not to mention, there was random cigarette buds everywhere throughout the room and smooshed in between the boards of the floor. The Only Lady that works there also lives there. She lives on the fourth floor and is also a smoker so the whole building reeks of smoke definitely don’t recommend especially if you’re bringing children. Nothing is clean and their breakfast is nonexistent.

The location is PERFECT for any need. Staff is friendly and helpful, only thing that could improve the experience is having access to cooking ware…but I understand those items may be hard to maintain accessibility and cleanliness. Other than that this place is located near anything you could possibly need including a goodwill to buy a cheap pot or pan if needed.
