Couple's trip We stayed here as a family at the end of the year. It was our first time at Dogo Onsen, and as a way to show my wife how grateful she is to us, I was looking for a quiet and relaxing inn, even if it cost a bit more. Since we planned our stay at the end of November, there weren't many options for accommodations that met our needs, but I'm glad we were able to stay at this inn. As soon as we arrived, we were greeted with a smile, and our casual conversation helped ease our tension and made us feel at ease. There was no reception desk where staff were waiting, so after we gave our names, we were led to a calm entrance hall with a view of the courtyard and were treated to tea, sweets, and mandarin orange juice. It was the first time in my life that I was called "husband," and my wife kept glancing back at me, which was very embarrassing. The inn itself is located on a hill, so the view from the room is beautiful, but it's a steep climb from the shopping district, so if you have luggage, you'll need to be prepared. The room was clean, quaint, and quiet. We hardly encountered any other guests, and had the bath all to ourselves, so we were able to relax. Towels and other items are provided in the bath so there's no need to bring them, and there's a beer server at the entrance with all-you-can-drink and all-you-can-eat ice cream. We were also given the opportunity to take oranges with us, so we tried them all. I heard that the baths at Yamatoya Main Store could also be used for free, so I went there right away, and it was bustling with families with children. With all-you-can-eat orange juice, sake, and snacks, I think it's definitely more family-friendly. Yamatoya Besso doesn't offer services that children will enjoy, so if you're looking for a quiet and relaxing stay like us, the villa is the better choice. The baths are both small and nice, but Yamatoya Besso has fewer people and feels more private, giving you a more luxurious feel. We spent two relaxing nights there, and would recommend it for a couple on an adult trip. The staff were kind and smiling, and eager to engage in casual conversation, so we had a very meaningful time. I've never been to a hotel or inn where someone called me husband or wife before, so it was a very memorable trip.

You can even enter the main building's large public bath empty-handed. I recommend visiting the main building or the shopping district on your first day. The main building's large public bath is larger, so you can relax there. When I got home, dinner was incredibly delicious and I was blown away. I ended up falling in love with Ehime mikan oranges at Beni Madonna. The evening and morning baths were also great, with the cozy feel of a villa. The breakfast had a wide variety of dishes, and you could even have seconds. The staff were all kind and helpful, with excellent customer service skills. I was truly surprised by the delicious food! Thank you very much.

We stayed here on a family trip. When we opened the front door, we were greeted by a spacious Japanese-style space that was very nice. The room was also spotlessly cleaned, and it smelled wonderful. Perhaps because the number of guests staying here is low, the bath was almost always reserved no matter what time we went. The location is also quite good, just a few minutes' walk from Dogo Onsen. As for the food, the steak was very tasty, but other than that there was nothing particularly outstanding. The overall service was excellent, but it felt like some things could have been skimped on here and there, which was a shame.
