YAWP! backpackers - Hostel

The owner was so nice!(thank you Tak) It was weird for me to sleep on a ”capsule” hostel, but I got used to it immediatly cuz the vibes were good(slept like 12hrs/night). The owner was super nice and showed us around the good food places and bars🫶🏻It was a bit far from the center but it was still easy to go to the famous places. Thank you Tak🙏🏻🫶🏻best experience for me on my global journey🥰

- When I arrived in Japan on the 13th, I sent a message here via chat to the owner asking for the full location of the Airbnb. The message was sent at 9 am and is recorded in the Airbnb chat. - He didn't reply, so I had to find the Airbnb with the help of someone on the street, in a language I don't speak. - Upon arriving at the Airbnb, I waited outside for check-in time. When I was greeted, he said I was disrespectful for sending a message so early. He said that if I did it again, he wouldn't allow me to stay at the Airbnb. He said that Westerners have this custom, that they are rude. I simply apologized for any inconvenience and checked in. - After that, he started harassing me and controlling everything I do on the Airbnb. He complained about the time I spent in the shower, the floor being wet (even though there was no bath towel), and he followed me everywhere I did at the Airbnb. - Today, when I returned to the Airbnb, I bought something to eat at a convenience store next door, and since the Airbnb has a strong smell and is dirty, I decided to eat outside. - He came outside and said I couldn't eat there. But he also said I couldn't eat in the common area because it closed at midnight. He also said I couldn't eat in the room because it would make the room dirty. - With no other option, I ate quickly, standing up, to go to sleep. He said I had to leave, that I couldn't stay at the Airbnb anymore. This was already 1 a.m. - I went to my bed to sleep and said I would leave only if I got my money back. Even so, he called the police. The police tried to mediate a solution, but since I don't speak the native language, the officers didn't help me. - In the end, he said he would allow me to sleep on the Airbnb sofa in the common area, the same area he previously said I couldn't be in. However, he conditioned my stay on the presence of the police. He wouldn't let me charge my phone or turn off the lights to sleep. With no other option and no way to sleep, I left at 5 am. - Now I'm at Yahiro train station, planning to sleep here. It's 6 degrees Celsius. - I've never been so disrespected, and this situation is ruining my trip. - I also found out that the host has done this to other guests. There are several negative reviews of him on Google and Airbnb. - I want my money back because I didn't enjoy the stay, and he acted unilaterally without contacting the Airbnb platform.

The owner and only staff of this place isn’t bad as a person but the place he’s renting is absolutely disgusting. So apart of his kindness for introducing us the places to visit, the rest was a disaster. The hostel itself is a huge garbage: - the height of the bins is competing with the Mount Fuji (still unsure on the winner), - the owner is kinda obsessed for you to tidy your stuff and the bathroom (by tidy I mean clean), I guess you’ll save him some work - the capsule beds got the friendly specificities of being open in the back so you’ll have the pleasure of falling asleep watching the face of your neighbour, - sinks are white… and black with dry soap - no intimacy inside but also outside so the owner will let you know that you shouldn’t call Positive points: - bathroom got soap (and the last finished bottle like a reminder of the previous guest, sweet) - allow to use plenty of stuff navigating around the trash in the kitchen Well I guess that there is more things to say but isn’t it already enough? I booked 4 nights, stayed 1, everything’s staid! I’ll let you with a game of spot the difference! Bye! 🫡
