I booked a room for two nights, but I doubt I'll be returning. I have a child who's too young to take to the public bath, so I stayed in a room with an indoor bath. While the bathroom and toilet are separate, it was a small, dark bathroom—so small that a modern unit bath would be preferable. I was put off by the faucet never filling with hot water. The public bath is completely covered with waterproof tatami mats, and the thick water was impressive. Towels are required from your room, but only enough are provided for one person. If you bathe before a meal, you have to use a wet towel afterward. Then, the next morning, you have to bring a crisp, dry towel with you for your morning bath. Even though I'd made the effort to stay at a hot spring inn, I missed the comfort of home, where I can always use freshly washed towels. Along with the hot springs, the food is one of the great pleasures of this type of inn, but I was disappointed by the number of dishes served, which seemed to be straight from the fridge. There's a token live kitchen, but the only food served is vegetable tempura (sweet potato, lotus root, and bell pepper) and pork skewers (frozen, of course), which isn't particularly appealing. When checking in on the first day, you choose from several meal times for both dinner and breakfast. I requested my preferred meal times for both days on the first day, but when I arrived at the dining room on the morning of the second day, I was told that dining time would soon be over. I explained that I had specified a time when I checked in, but they insisted, "It's set at this time every day." They began clearing the food shortly after we started eating, and I was told I could continue eating as they would take their time to clear away, but I wasn't in the mood to enjoy my meal, so I left the dining room. When I mentioned this to the front desk when I checked out, they explained that they adjust meal times depending on the number of guests that day, and that I hadn't been informed about the meal times on the second day. The restaurant staff said the meal times were the same every day, while the front desk staff said they adjusted them daily. I wonder who was lying. There is a pond right next to the hotel, and the view from the room was great. There is also a Lawson just a few minutes' walk away, so it's conveniently located so you can buy some food even if you miss breakfast.

This is an Oedo Onsen Monogatari inn in Ureshino Onsen. It appears to have been formerly a Yukai Resort inn. While the building is older, it's a good value for families. I booked a four-bedroom room, which was spacious enough and very satisfying. However, the balcony space wasn't particularly clean. Since it was summer, they also had a pool, which we enjoyed. Karaoke is free at certain times, and there are also table tennis, manga, and foot massages, so kids will enjoy it. While the dinner and breakfast buffets have declined in quality slightly compared to before, the selection and quality are still adequate. The roast beef in the evening and French toast in the morning were delicious. Local specialties like Nagasaki champon, castella, and Ureshino hot spring tofu are also great. And above all, the hot springs are amazing. Both the indoor bath with tatami mats and the outdoor rock bath are charming, and the water is smooth and comfortable, typical of Ureshino. There's a souvenir shop, so I bought a few things. Rather than enjoying the atmosphere of a hot spring town, I think you'll be more satisfied if you enjoy the leisure activities at the inn with your family.

There is a hot spring bath and an open-air bath. Meals are served buffet style. There seems to be a limited number of seats. The food is good. The room I stayed in was a Japanese-style room with a toilet in the room but no bath. The water is Bijin-yu (beauty water) and is very smooth.
