Simply visiting Alcatraz last minute. Through the tour package, we were able to secure tickets which normally needs advance notice of at least 2 weeks. I presume but we were able to get it within a few hours.

Very nice. Very clear to how to get to the tour. Agency that was suppose to provide entrance tickets very helpful and was nice. Has a great time but must bring a little coat it gets a bit cold.

Way too expensive. Much cheaper if you use Alcatraz tours. When we picked up our tickets the time was changed. This was a problem since we were meeting other people.

Great tour! Great job explaining the history of Alcatraz Island, not just the history of the prison. The highlight was definitely the self guided audio tour of the cellhouse and the memorabilia. Warning: be prepared for the flies that infest the island!

This tour is a total rip off! I booked it through Viator, which is a reputable company. However, they should be ashamed of themselves for using this supplier. Book directly, and definitely DO NOT USE VIATOR!! We paid $100 more than we should have. Also, after you book, you don't actually get your tickets--we had to take an Uber the day before to pick them up. I booked a 1:30 tour, and when we picked up the tickets, our time was changed to 3:00. We were told we also had a bay cruise, and that we should book the 6:00 pm cruise before going down to the pier for the Alcatraz ferry. We did this, then discovered that the return ferry from Alcatraz left at 4:25 or 5:25. We ended up with only 45 minutes to explore Alcatraz. We were extremely disappointed in this tour.

The tour was great, but despite booking online and being told we all we had to do was bring an e-copy of the tickets, we get a call and text 24 hours before telling us we need to come downtown (about 1.5 miles from the pier/ ferry drop off) in order to pick up our tickets. We go to the requested site, and then the pushy sales guy breaks up our party of 5 into 2 on the 12 o'clock and 3 on the 1 o'clock. He says it's an "honest mistake" and then tries to ease the situation by offering us a free bike tour or harbor tour. We were traveling with our kids and on a tight time frame, so neither were helpful or desired. In the end, we ended up all getting on the 12 o clock ferry, but it made for so much more stress and coordination than it should have been. I won't use this website again.

I was completely ripped off and deceived by this tour. It ended up costing me more than it was worth their advertised packages are very misleading. My orginal purchase from this company was a Alcatraz package which included Hop On/Hop Off bus tickets but was advised our package was now a Alcatraz and Bay Tour package when I picked up my package which happens to be miles away from the pier and my hotel stay more money wasted for an Uber drive to the location. I ended up with an extra set of Bay Cruise tickets that I purchased prior to picking up my package since I was not made aware of the company's package changes. Don't get fooled into believing that you need to purchase a $200+ Alcatraz package. Tickets can easily be purchased for adults, senior's and children for $40.00 and under from the Alcatraz website.

Viator is raking in the money! They charged me $280 for me and my son to tour Alcatraz, however the tickets to Alcatraz are only $41. My Alcatraz Island Tour Package Summer 2020 was supposed to include a day tour of San Francisco but this was never communicated to me. I called Viator 3 times to ask what was included in the package and I got 3 different answers (bike rental, harbor tour, hop-on hop-off tour of SF). I was told to go to an address to pick up my tickets the day before the Alcatraz tour, which I was planning to do, when I got a text at 8:08 AM saying the bus tour starts at 10:00 AM and I need to get to a certain address. I did not rent a car so getting around the city was not fast or easy. I was able to do the last part of the bus tour but there was no time to get off and explore. I feel like Viator was completely disorganized and charged me almost $300 for an Alcatraz tour that would have cost only $82 if I didn't go through Viator.
