We checked in at the booth and Phillip was very informative about the island and where we would leave from, return to, how to see things from the pier before leaving. We took the ferry over to the island, Captain Zip was very informative on the ride over about what to expect, where to go, how long the walk was and what we might see - turtles, dolphins, sea shells and more. The island was everything they said and more- beautiful, filled with shells, beautiful clear water, very few people and snorkeling was great! Returning, Captain Zip and First Mate Robin were telling us we might see dolphins or manatee or even eagles or maybe eagle rays! We saw all of that- and we learned so much about each animal. A wonderful time, one I would say is not to be missed - and Monday and Tuesday are the slowest days, so go then!!

The trip was even better than expected. Easy on and off the boat for us two 70-year-olds. Dippy & Noah gave us all a quick history lesson and tips on the best way to enjoy our 3 hours on the key. They went out of their way to get us with in photo range of two dolphin pods. They pointed out a ray that was jumping out of the water. Listening to the Grateful Dead & Goose on the ride back just made our afternoon perfect.

The captains took great care of our group and made sure we were all comfortable. They were super knowledgeable and chill. The island experience was wonderful as you got to experience true Florida. We saw Gopher Tortoises and a manatee. Exploring the fort and playing on the beach didn’t leave us wanting more. Fantastic trip!

$50 for a ferry ride (approx 30 min each way) and nearly 3 hours on a deserted island & ecological reserve? I had an entire beach to myself, until a few others discovered it after exploring the island... worth every penny and zero regrets, or stress, after this 1/2 day trip!

Wonderful find! Captains Robin and Zip were informative and entertaining! Walked the island and saw turtles, 'black palm trees', the old batteries and the lighthouse. Great shelling on the beach and found a shark tooth! Met some great people too! Spotted a manatee close to shore and a pod of dolphins on the way back to Fort De Soto! So glad we found this trip!

Our family had an amazing time. Capt. Robin was awesome! I was expecting just a ride over but it was so much more. She has great energy and made sure everyone was really having a good time.

The ferry operators were excellent. They were kind and informative and fun. I especially loved that they stopped twice on the return trip to get trash out of the water. A+++ for their care about the environment and wildlife. Egmont Key itself exceeded my expectations. I loved learning about its history and the solitude of the beach. Boaters love to anchor there for the day and I can see why. There are no facilities so you should be mindful of that and the boat doesn’t stay at the island. We (my adult daughter and myself) packed our own drinks and sandwich/snacks and were fine for our time there. Overall, we had an awesome time. We saw a few turtles on the island and on the return ferry ride a large loggerhead. We would definitely return.

I took this trip for the second time and our Captains Robin and Noah were amazing they were very knowledgeable about the history of the place and gave great pointer as of where to go on the island. Had a great time..Will repeat!!! ❤️❤️One of the best places to go to❤️

Robin and Noah, the ferry captains, did an excellent job. Robin’s talk on the history, wildlife and layout of Egmont Key was “spot on”. I will definitely come back with family and friends. The deserted beach on the north side was beautiful.
