Glienicke Bridge

The Glienicke Bridge is know as the "Bridge of Spies". During the Cold War, the bridge was used by CIA and KGB in order to exchange agents. The Hollywood movie "Bridge of Spies" was shot here. The bridge was the border between the GDR and the American sector in West Berlin. Until the fall of the Berlin Wall, the bridge was a heavily secured restricted area.

Schloss Cecilienhof

The Cecilienhof Palace is the historic venue of the Potsdam Conference. In the summer of 1945, US President Harry S. Truman, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Soviet head of state Josef Stalin met here. We will not enter the palace, but see it from the outside.The conference was an end point of World War II, but also a starting point of the Cold War.

Neuer Garten

The UNESCO World Heritage Site "New Garden" was also a restricted area for a long time. The border fortifications of the Berlin Wall ran through the park with its historic palaces

Gedenk- und Begegnungsstatte Leistikowstrasse

Soviet military town No. 7 - a “forbidden city”, was located next to the New Garden. It was one of the most important intelligence sites of the Soviets during the Cold War. This tour was so interesting! We were all fascinated by everything we learned about the Soviet History in Potsdam. We saw a former Soviet Prison, the Bridge of Spies, former KGB headquarters and much more. Our guide was really knowledgeable about the subject and brought history to life. I highly recommend this tour if you are in the Berlin area.

Eine tolle, hochinteressante Tour zu Fuss und per Tram! Holger Reschke und uns die kleinen und die grossen Einzelheiten sehr anschaulich und unterhaltend erklärt, der Baum im Park mit kyrillischen Eingravuren russischer Soldaten oder das grosse Schloss Caecilienhof, Blickachsen durch die Stadt, um den Bezug zwischen Ost und West zu zeigen. Holger kann viel aus seiner eigenen Familie erzählen, Geschichte wird so greifbar und verständlich, sehr angenehm, man kann nachempfinden und sich seine eigene Meinung bilden. wenn wir wieder nach Berlin oder Potsdam kommen, werden wir wieder eine Tour heraussuchen. Kürzlich habe ich in einem Krimi über das Militärstädtchen Nr. 7 gelesen; von diesen Geheimdienststandort hatte ich zuvor noch nie gehört. Zufälligerweise begegnete mir kurz drauf im Internet ein Angebot für eine Führung, deren Inhalt sich unter anderem mit dieser "Verbotenen Stadt" auseinandersetzt. Also musste ich einfach buchen. Und was soll ich sagen, das war eine der besten und kurzweiligsten Führungen, die ich bisher mitgemacht habe. Das liegt maßgeblich am Guide Holger, der wahnsinnig viel Hintergrundwissen hat und auch auf viele Details am Wegesrand hinweist, die man ohne ihn übersehen würde. Weiterhin kommt noch sein persönlicher Bezug zu dieser Region und den Themen hinzu. Man merkt, dass er tief in den Themen verwurzelt ist und Spaß dran hat, sein Wissen weiterzugeben. Ich war begeistert und habe gerade schon die nächste Tour bei Berlins Taiga gebucht 😉

Wir haben die Tour als Kombi-Paket gebucht. Selbst nach 4 Stunden fiel es uns nicht schwer, Holgers Erzählungen zu folgen. Ein Guide, der es offensichtlich liebt, Geschichte zu vermitteln. Wenn wir das nächste Mal in der Nähe sind, buchen wir definitiv wieder Touren mit Berlins Taiga.

Sehr interessante und aufschlussreiche Führung in Form eines entspannten Spaziergangs. Der Guide hat mit seinem fundierten Wissen und der sehr angenehmen Erzählweise voll und ganz überzeugt. Wirklich sehr empfehlenswert.

Wir hatten ein ganz individuelle Führung zu viert. Es war hoch informativ, weil durch die Größe der Gruppe auf all unsere Fragen und Interessen eingegangen werden konnte. Holger hat die Führung sehr kurzweilig gestaltet. Man merkt, dass Berlins Taiga mit Leidenschaft am Werk ist, das war fantastisch. Bleibt weiter so engagiert bei der Sache. Ich würde die Tour immer wieder so buchen. Weiter so, es war ein tolles Erlebnis!

Wir hatten das Vergnügen am vergangenen Samstag (4.7.) an der Tour von der Glienicker Brücke bis zur Verbotenen Stadt teilzunehmen. Es war eine sehr informative und gut recherchierte Tour, welche uns interessante und vor allem neue Einblicke in die Geschichte Potsdams gewährt hat. Neben den "Klassikern" der Potsdamer Geschichte interessiert  uns natürlich auch die jüngere Vergangenheit. Als ehem. DDR - Bürger hatten wir schon einiges über den KGB und die sog. "Sonderlager" gehört und gelesen. Diese Tour hat unser Wissen dazu doch recht vertieft. Die Art und Weise der Führung war sehr ansprechend und nie langweilig. Weiter so!! Hochinteressante Tour, bei der man eine Reihe von Details und Erzählungen über das "sowjetische Potsdam" erfährt, die man so noch nicht kannte. Kurzweilig und klasse. Nur zu empfehlen.

Ich suchte eine Stadtführung in Potsdam, die nicht die bereits bekannten Schlösser beinhaltet. So fand ich Berlins Taiga. Meine individuellen Wünsche (Beginn der Tour – Zeit, Ort, Länge) konnte ich mit Herrn Raschke unkompliziert und zeitnah klären. Vielen Dank noch einmal. Die Führung selbst war wie angekündigt, anders und sehr wissenswert. Es herrschte eine angenehme Atmosphäre, da Herr Raschke sehr professionell und kompetent auftrat. Die Zeit verging wie im Fluge. Am Ende konnten wir einiges Neues dazu lernen.
