On June 11, 1877, the park opened as the first Hawaiian public space. Since 1913, the park has been maintained by the City and County of Honolulu Department of Parks and Recreation. Mokoli’i Island

Known as Chinese Hat, it is an islet in Kāneʻohe Bay, Hawaii. Mokoli'i is part of the Kualoa Regional Park. Mokoli'i translates from Hawaiian as "little lizard." "Moko" is an old form of the word "mo'o" and means "lizard" or dragon-like creature; "li'i" means "small" or "tiny." This island is very close to the coast and is located in front of the Koaloa farm. There we are going to put this small island in your head through a photography trick. From here to the next stop 30 minutes driving.

Laie Point State Wayside Park

Picturesque location with expansive views of the ocean and a unique sea arch on an island off the coast. Dole Plantation

What started as a Wahiawa fruit stand in the middle of pineapple fields in the 1950s is now an extremely popular Hawaiian attraction. Ruiz was a wonderful guide for the Stunning Views of Honolulu, very personable and knowledgeable. He took us to 7 different lookout points, each one more lovely than the last. He took photos of us and sent them to our phone. Fortunately the weather wasn't rainy, so the strong winds were OK. The only reason I gave a 4-star instead of a 5-star rating was because of some glitch in the website. I had originally booked the Full Circle tour, a full day experience, for the price of the half-day, and Viator requested that I change my tour to the half-day tour instead. I would not have wanted to stiff Ruiz that way, so we agreed to the half-day, which was really very nice.

Love the excursion and loved our guide Louise....kept his number for next time. Nice air-conditioned car and plenty of water. Could not have been any better.
