Las Palmas is a city like so many others. There is a lot of traffic and tall buildings, but also a city with good businesses and shopping opportunities. The old town is cozy with narrow streets, restaurants, cafes and a beautiful cathedral. The wide beach is fantastic with its light brown fine sand and clean water. You can rent a deck chair for 2.5 euros and a parasol for the same. There is a strong westerly wind on certain days. We were there in the latter half of March.
