Ever wondered what it’s like to turn a city girl with her 11-year-old son into a cave-exploring adventurer? Well, let me tell you about my life-changing experience on a snorkeling tour with Zip & Trip in Portimão! From the moment we set out, I knew this wasn’t going to be your average tour. Pedro, our guru-like guide, led us into hidden caves that you’d never find on your own. Get ready to climb a bit, crawl, and swim through schools of fish. Trust me, I was scared, but Pedro’s calm and expert guidance made it all feel possible. I even had the chance to meet the owner, a professional scuba instructor from Sweden who started Zip & Trip with his wife a number of years ago. He was a walking encyclopedia of knowledge about the stunning limestone formations. We saw million-year-old fossils nestled in the cave walls, cozy homes for birds and other fascinating creatures. At first, I thought I couldn't do it, but he was my savior! He literally never left my side, holding onto a board with me and making sure I was okay every part of the way. I went from freaking out to calm and confident, all thanks to his patience and graciousness. Anderson, another amazing team member, took all of the photos during our adventure. He was incredibly kind and caring, capturing every moment beautifully so we could relive the experience again and again. Forget those hundreds of boat tours you see—this is the only way to explore the mysterious, hidden caves of Portimão. If I can do it, anyone can. We are not accomplished snorklets. The staff was really patient, kind, and attentive. Great experience! We would definitely recommend!

This was a wonderful experience! There was a lot of wildelife to see and many hidden caves to explore (which you can only reach at certain times). Pedro and Adrianna were amazing guides, giving us ample instructions on how to go about everything and also giving us background info on the area and geological history. If I remember correctly this was also one of the first times Adrianna came along as a guide and she carried herself beautifully. Pedro in turn was able to lead the whole snorkeltour really well and even did some diving to show us. 10/10 would strongly recommend!

This tour/excursion was amazing. If you see a cave or tunnel, chances are you’ll either swim or crawl through it and then some. Our tour guides were extremely friendly and helpful. The wet suits also made the swimming incredibly easy - felt no different from a leisurely stroll. Having not used a wet suit before, I do regret not bringing my GoPro (you don’t need to use your hands) - they take pictures at no extra charge, but man I wanted to take like a million.

Pedro was awesome. This was a great trip from an experience standpoint - army crawled through sand to get to a hidden cave, snorkeled to a private algarve. Great experience. Water was cloudy so not the best for seeing fish but not within Pedro’s control.

Pedro and Phoenix were excellent tour guides. My family of three kids (ages 15, 13 and 10) all enjoyed it. The cave was so cool. The wet suit experience was fun and unique. Thank you for the great experience.

Had a wonderful experience. They took us to so many beautiful and unique spots. It was fun and relaxing as they have such a great energy about them. After we snorkeled we got a little picnic on the beach. I didn't want it to end. You also get a bunch of photos taken by them which is awesome! I highly recommend!
