What to expect
Valle dei Templi
Take a walk through history, treat yourself to a unique emotion: visit the Valley of the Temples, one of the most important archaeological sites in the world. What you will admire inside is what remains of the ancient Greek city of Akragas, founded in 500 BC. Its monumental Doric temples are an icon-image of the beauty of this island and its fascinating history. The splendid Temple of Concordia is one of the temples that has survived to this day in an almost perfect state of conservation. It is possible to buy a ticket only to visit the temples or combined tickets that include admission to the archaeological museum or archaeological museum plus Kolymbethra garden.
Giardino della Kolymbethra
Inside the Valley of the Temples there is also the Kolymbethra garden, which offers a remarkable variety of trees and landscapes. Tickets can be purchased online or directly at the ticket offices of the archaeological park. Opening hours vary according to the season. It is possible to buy a ticket only to visit the temples or combined tickets that include admission to the archaeological museum or archaeological museum plus Kolymbethra garden.
Casa Natale di Luigi Pirandello
Discover the life, secrets and mysteries of the great Luigi Pirandello, undoubtedly one of the most important writers of Italian literature, Nobel Prize for literature (1934) The museum is located inside the birthplace of the writer, who lived here in his childhood and adolescence. The house was originally a rural building from the late eighteenth century, owned by the Ricci Gramitto family, ancestors of the writer's maternal side. Here, Caterina Ricci Gramitto, Luigi's mother, had taken refuge to escape the serious cholera epidemic that was raging in Sicily in 1867. The museum itinerary includes 6 exhibition halls. Each room is dedicated to a different theme, like stages of a journey through the life, works and imagination of Luigi Pirandello (1867-1936). Cost of the entrance ticket 4.00 euros. 2.00 euros for citizens under the age of 18 of the European community and non-EU citizens.
Stair of the Turks
A splendid dazzling white jewel that frames the clear blue of the sea is the Scala dei Turchi. One of the favorite destinations of southern summers, thanks to its conformation with soft, rounded and irregular lines and to the color of its "cold" white cliff. On the beach adjacent to the Scala dei Turchi, reachable by land from the east side, you can stop freely and take a dip. It is possible to go down to the beach along a ladder and a small road downhill, or you can take advantage of the shuttle service (not always available). The remaining tour time will be used to travel between attractions.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
