Great experience! Our guide Daria was very informative and made the trip fun. Enrique at the winery was also a great host. Etna Tribe is a great tour operator!

Our guide (Giuseppe) was good. Taormina is, of course, gorgeous. However, the winery we were taken to, after Mt. Etna, was, in our opinion, a complete waste of time. The time there would have been better spent at Taormina where there is so much to see and do. We were treated to some food samples at this winery and a couple of wine droplets which were mediocre at best. In addition, the woman at this winery who gave us a few samples of Sicilian liquor at the end seemed to be in a hurry, disinterested and wearing a political symbol around her neck that was quite offensive. For this reason alone I would avoid this winery and likely tell others to avoid this tour.

I wonderful tour. We had an infant and a toddler and Claudio was patient with us. He was also knowledgeable and attentive

Our guide Daria was fantastic. She really knew her geology and the history of Mt Etna. She was a wonderful driver and through in a lava tube cave I didn’t expect. Taormina was more on your own experience which was a nice way to treat a small city where you could eat or shop or see the historic sites.

Really lucky with clear day at the summit and fresh snow. We were a diverse group of 6, one had mobility issues so it worked well to have two guides so we could split up. Our guides ere very knowledgeable, friendly, endlessly patient and flexible. One of the roads going to the lava caves was blocked by snow so Diara went off to a different cave site. She was very cognizant of our well being dealing with the altitude or steps, etc. The wine, oil tasting was fun, be sure to order an appetizer. Taormina is a gem but crowded on the Main Street.

Claudio was an excellent tour guide! We enjoyed this tour very much, and learned a lot about how Mt. Etna shaped the geography and history of Sicily. Claudio expertly navigated us around the volcano which afforded really amazing views of Sicily. Taormina was mostly a tourist trap, but we paid the extra cost to enter the amphitheater and it was worth it. As we only had about two hours in Taormina, we had to pick sightseeing or eating, not both. If you really want to explore Taormina, this probably isn’t the tour for you. We found the town was mostly just high end shopping, so two hours was enough for us.

Had a fantastic family day out on this tour. Guide was fun and informative. Weather was unexpectedly cold but he adjusted the plans and we had a great time. Would recommend this tour.

The excursion to Mount Etna from Catania was well worth it. Our tour guide, a Sicilian, was very knowledgeable of this area of Sicily and I would say was an expert on the different aspects and types of volcanoes. It was an educational trip for me as well as an amazing adventure. The stop in Taormina was also very interesting, Taormina is a very beautiful and quaint small city. The food and wine experience, from a local Enoteca, was also highly appreciated. I recommend this Viator to anyone!

Picked up close to 9:00am at the corner by our Airbnb. Giuseppe was informative and caring. We went up Etna and he hiked with us. It was an adventure because of the very strong winds! Then off to a winery which was lovely. Then to Taormina. We had 2 hours to do whatever. We met up at 7:00pm to head back. His driving was perfecto and we were all worn out from exploring and seeing the towns/villages on the drive.

Excellent full day with an excellent guide. We did not understand that this tour does NOT included a hike to the summit- the only way to get there is to pay extra for the bus/chairlift which most of our group did...., but even without it our guide took us to climb/visit some dormant craters and even a quiet area where the fauna is re-growing from a past eruption.
