    The town was not too full this time of year, our tour guide was knowledgeable and enjoyable, and we had a great time!

    We weren't sure what to expect other than an old fort and references to knights. We were so mistaken! Not only was there so much to see in the old town, from stone ramparts to restaurants to sword shops, but Anne was a superb tour guide! She was knowledgeable and full of interesting information about Carcassonne across the ages. She shared facts and humor across English and French (she also speaks Spanish), and was happy to focus on the parts that interested us. She also offered suggestions on restaurants and bars. She even helped us discuss sword construction with one of the shop owners. In short, she was friendly, knowledgeable, and flexible for us. We definitely want to come back, and highly recommend Anne as a guide!

    This was a lovely tour. We'd done the audio tours in the castle, but the information provided by our guide was far more comprehensive and enlightening. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone wanting to know the vast history of the city and surrounding area.

    Good Tour with knowledgeable guide. We walked a lot of the outside walls and some of the town inside.

    Anna was a great guide. There are so many small architectural and historical details about La Cite that absolutely necessitates a tour. We learned so much and had a lot of fun. Anna was also great with our 8 year old boy. Very interactive. Definitely worth it.

    What to expect

    Carcassonne Center

    Complete guided tour of the City during which we will see the fortifications and the exteriors of the count's castle. We can also visit the Count's castle (entrance fee 9 euros 50 /person) to discover its defensive system, its keep and its lapidary museum or evoke it from the outside. We will end our discovery with the astonishing Basilica of St-Nazaire and St-Celse.
