The water taxi trip was average. The operator was doing good job. But it seems boring to us. There is no attraction you can see during the trip from the wharf to the old town Alexandria on the Potomac River. Only if you have a plan to visit any attractions on old town Alexandria by your own, you may by happy. The options for food or drink on the water taxi is limited.

Prompt service both to and from Alexandria, got to see sights along the river. This is a public water taxi service though, not a tour, with no information given about the points of interest on the route.

Disappointing experience. The water taxi smelled badly with what I presume were fuel fumes. We were looking forward to the commentary but the problem was that most of the other passengers were not listening and the general conversations taking place drowned out most of what was being relayed by the guide.

We prebooked for Wednesday afternoon in May, but there was plenty of space so could have just walked up. The commentary was entertaining and informative. The taxi we were on had plenty of space inside, but not much outside, so not much room for photos unless you take pictures through the windows.

The most memorable part for me was having enough time to walk around old town Alexandria (VA). Even though I was late for all museums (they close at 5 pm or earlier). But it was an amazing opportunity to just wonder along King street and nearby. So many people were dining (in and outdoors). Wow! Seemed like a hot destination for that. Lots of nice shops (again, I was late for most, but not all). Well, less distraction if you want to see more of historical houses and read about important moments in American history.
I departed the Warf at 4:45 pm. The ride was about 20 min. The captain and the crew were very professional. I felt very safe. It was nice to be on the water and see the harbor with many yachts and boats. But nothing very special along the way. And there was no any comments from the captain along the way, becides estimated time of arrival and further directions for passengers. So, I did feel like I was missing on some stories that usually are there when it is a sight-seeing tour per se. But it was very minor feeling.
