Windsor Castle

The town of Windsor is best known for its historical links to the British royal family, and it is suitably steeped in pageantry and history. Towering over the rest of the town is Windsor Castle, the ancestral home of the English and later British monarchy, and largest inhabited castle in the world. It has been the family home of British kings and queens for almost 1,000 years and is today one of the official residences of His Majesty The King. Occupying over 10.5 hectares, the Castle offers a varied day out for visitors, including a visit to the magnificent State Apartments and St George's Chapel. The Castle's State Apartments are furnished with some of the finest works from the Royal Collection, reflecting the changing tastes of the Castle's royal occupants, particularly those of Charles II and George IV. Many of the works of art are still in the historic settings for which they were first collected or commissioned by the kings and queens who have lived at Windsor.

Terrible experience, the winxsor castle was closed, so we didn't get inside. That's so bad, feels like a scam. We just walked around the wall...

Andrew was amazing, his jokes always kept everyone engaged. I had an amazing time and loved learning some history through Andy. Would love to come again!

We were 2 minutes late because we went to the adress in the ticket leaded by Google Maps and it was wrong... So, the bus left right in front of us. We weren't the only ones in this situation and the tour operator offered us two alternative trips in the same day. We took the one that included Windsor and Stonehendge, so we only missed Oxford. Anyway, the time was tight, so I can't even imagine how we could have been visiting also Oxford. We had a great guide: Will - funny and very documented.

Me and my friend had a good time , our tour guide Mel was very informative and friendly( 5 star to him ). All though we didn’t really have much time in Windsor castle , there were huge waiting lines yet we had to comeback to bus on given time which means we had to miss out on exploring the castle . As we are tourist and won’t know the exact time, I think a heads up on what to expect before hand would have been better . As it’s hard to miss out on things after travelling so far spending so much money .
