Today was a day of embracing the raw beauty of Morocco and savoring its authentic flavors. Leaving the familiar blue streets of Chefchaouen behind, we ventured into the Rif Mountains, where nature's wonders and local hospitality intertwined to create an unforgettable experience. It was a day of contrasts – from the invigorating hike to the serene waterfalls to the bustling energy of the local restaurants and the cozy ambiance of a hidden bar.

The morning began with an early start, as Daniel and I, along with our friends, piled into our pre-booked taxi. The destination was Akchour, a small village nestled in the Rif Mountains, known for its stunning waterfalls and natural bridge. The drive itself was an adventure, winding through lush landscapes and offering glimpses of traditional Moroccan life far removed from the tourist trails. I couldn't help but feel a sense of anticipation building as we approached the trailhead, the air growing crisper and the scenery becoming more dramatic.

I thought about how different this was from my usual life in Bristol, coding away in front of a computer screen. I thought about my Kazakh roots and how much I enjoy experiencing new cultures and sharing them with others through my blog.

Tomorrow, we plan to explore the viewpoints and parks within Chefchaouen itself, including the View Point and Park Sidi Abdelhamid. We're also planning to do some souvenir shopping at CHAOUEN GIFTS and try out Restaurant Bab Kasaba, Restaurant Hamsa, and Restaurant Parador. I am excited to see what other hidden gems Chefchaouen has in store for us.
