Our day began with a hearty breakfast at Salvador Dali Restaurante. I opted for a traditional Bahian breakfast – acarajé, of course! Priya, ever the health-conscious one, went for a fruit platter, while Devon devoured a stack of pancakes. I must admit, starting the day with the spicy, flavorful acarajé was the perfect way to awaken my senses and prepare for the adventures ahead. It reminded me of the doubles back home in Trinidad, that familiar burst of flavor that always brings a smile to my face.

As a software developer, I appreciate the intricate workings of technology, but there's something about maritime history that always captivates me. Perhaps it's the sense of adventure, the courage of those who navigated the unknown, or the sheer ingenuity of the ships that sailed the seas. Whatever the reason, I was eager to explore the museum and learn more about Bahia's nautical past.
