Today was a day of wandering, of letting Seville whisper its stories to me. I didn't have a rigid plan, just a desire to absorb the city's essence, to find those little corners where history and modern life intertwine. It turned out to be a day filled with unexpected delights and a deeper connection to this captivating city.



My day began with breakfast at Las Teresas, a place recommended for its traditional Sevillian fare. Nestled in the heart of the Jewish Quarter, the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and sizzling churros filled the air. The bar was already bustling with locals, their animated conversations creating a vibrant backdrop to my morning meal. I savored each bite of my tostada con tomate, the simple yet flavorful combination of toasted bread, ripe tomatoes, and olive oil a perfect start to the day. It was a delightful experience, and it felt like stepping back in time, surrounded by the bar's historic charm.

Fueled by breakfast, I made my way to Plaza del Salvador. The square was alive with activity, families strolling, friends chatting, and the sounds of children playing filling the air. I sat on a bench, closed my eyes, and imagined the square in different eras, from its Roman origins to its Moorish influences and its present-day vibrancy.

While the museum space itself was small, it provided valuable insights into Murillo's artistic journey and his connection to Seville. I was particularly moved by the reproductions of his paintings, their delicate brushstrokes and emotional depth capturing the essence of 17th-century Seville. It was inspiring to stand in the rooms where Murillo once lived and worked, imagining the creative energy that permeated these walls.

For lunch, I ventured to Restaurante Arte y Sabor, drawn in by its promise of innovative tapas. I sampled a variety of tapas, each one a burst of flavor and creativity. The beetroot salmorejo was a particular highlight, its vibrant color and refreshing taste a perfect complement to the warm Seville weather. In the late afternoon, I decided to explore the Teatro de la Maestranza, Seville's premier opera house. While I wasn't able to catch a performance, I was captivated by the theater's architecture and its prominent location on the banks of the Guadalquivir River. I discovered that the theater was built on the site of a former military barracks and that it has played a significant role in Seville's cultural scene since its inauguration in 1991. Standing outside the theater, I imagined the grand performances that have taken place within its walls, the soaring voices and dramatic stories that have filled the space with life.

As the sun began to set, I sought refuge in The Second Room - Sevilla, a bar known for its creative cocktails and intimate atmosphere. The bar's dimly lit interior and eclectic decor created a cozy and inviting ambiance. I ordered a signature cocktail, its complex flavors a delightful blend of sweet, sour, and bitter notes. It was the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring, to reflect on the experiences and discoveries I had made.

For dinner, I chose Palo Cortao, a restaurant recommended for its sherry pairings and innovative tapas. Unfortunately, I learned upon arriving that Ana & Ángel have moved on to other adventures and the restaurant is permanently closed. I was disappointed not to experience their culinary creations, but I took it as a reminder that Seville is a city of constant change and evolution, where new experiences are always waiting to be discovered. Instead, I wandered around the neighborhood and found a small, family-run restaurant where I enjoyed a simple but delicious meal of grilled seafood and local wine.

Reflecting on the day, I realized that Seville had once again surprised me with its hidden gems and its ability to blend history and modernity. Tomorrow, I plan to explore the Jardines del Prado de San Sebastián, Palacio de San Telmo and Santa Cruz, delving deeper into Seville's architectural and natural beauty. I am also hoping to find a special memento at Souvenir Alegria de Sevilla.



As I prepare for another day of exploration, I am filled with a sense of gratitude for the opportunity to experience Seville's magic. This city has a way of captivating the senses and stirring the soul, leaving an indelible mark on all who wander its streets. And as I drift off to sleep, I can't help but wonder what hidden treasures tomorrow will reveal.
