Today was a day of contrasts, a beautiful blend of physical exertion and quiet contemplation. From the panoramic heights of Ain elDeb Peak, Bsharri revealed its multifaceted charm. It’s moments like these that remind me why I embarked on this solo journey through Lebanon, a journey to reconnect with myself and the world around me.

My day began with an early breakfast at Masa Restaurant. The restaurant is located inside Samar Resort, and the terrace offered breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. I savored a traditional Lebanese breakfast, a delightful spread of labneh, olives, and fresh bread. It was the perfect fuel for the day’s adventures.

With a full stomach and a sense of anticipation, I set out for Ain elDeb Peak. The drive itself was an experience, the winding roads offering glimpses of the dramatic landscape that defines this region. As I ascended, the air grew crisper, carrying the scent of pine and earth. I remembered similar drives in the Syrian mountains near Al-Suqaylabiyah, where the air held the same promise of natural beauty and adventure.

Reaching the trailhead, I laced up my hiking boots and began the trek. The path was rocky in places, a testament to the rugged terrain, but the views were more than worth the effort. The vibrant landscapes surrounding Ain elDeb, with their lush greenery and rugged terrains, created a stunning backdrop. Every step brought a new vista, a wider panorama of the Bsharri District unfolding before me. The higher I climbed, the more I felt a sense of liberation, the worries and stresses of Bonn fading into the distance. Ain elDeb Peak stands as a stunning jewel, captivating visitors with its breathtaking panoramic views.

At the summit, I was rewarded with a view that stretched to the horizon. The Qadisha Valley snaked below, a tapestry of green and gold, and the distant mountains seemed to touch the sky. It was a moment of profound connection, a reminder of the power of nature to heal and inspire. I thought of Klaus and the children, wishing they could share this moment with me. Perhaps one day, I'll bring them here, to experience the magic of Lebanon firsthand.

After descending from Ain elDeb Peak, I drove back towards Bsharri, my thoughts still lingering on the stunning views. My next stop was Saint Georges Church and Park, a place of serenity nestled in the heart of the town. The church itself is an architectural gem, a testament to the region's rich history and cultural heritage. As I stepped inside, I was struck by the peaceful atmosphere, the soft light filtering through the stained-glass windows creating a sense of reverence.

In Syria, we lived alongside Christians, and I have fond memories of celebrating their holidays and learning about their traditions. As the afternoon drew to a close, I found myself at Al naher restaurant for a late lunch. I savored the flavors of authentic Lebanese cuisine. The meal was simple but satisfying, a reminder of the importance of good food and good company. Though I was traveling solo, I felt a sense of connection to the people around me, a shared appreciation for the simple pleasures of life.

In the evening, I decided to experience Bsharri's nightlife at Muse Bar. The bar is an iconic establishment in the heart of Bsharri, where the charm of Lebanese nightlife comes alive. The bar boasts an impressive selection of beverages, including local wines and handcrafted cocktails. The interior is tastefully decorated, combining modern aesthetics with traditional touches that reflect the rich cultural heritage of the region. The bar often hosts local musicians and DJs, enhancing the experience with live music. I enjoyed a glass of local wine, listening to the music and soaking in the lively atmosphere. It was a chance to unwind and mingle with locals and fellow travelers, sharing stories and experiences. Before heading back to my accommodation, I had dinner at Le Pichet des Cèdres - Restaurant. The restaurant offers authentic Lebanese cuisine in Ariz. The meal was a perfect end to a perfect day, a celebration of the flavors and traditions of Lebanon.

As I write this, I'm filled with a sense of gratitude for the experiences of the day. Bsharri has a way of captivating the soul, of reminding you of the beauty and simplicity of life. The anticipation of tomorrow's journey to Hasroun Old Souk and the Statue of St. Charbel fills me with excitement. I'm eager to explore more of this region's history and spirituality.

Tomorrow, I plan to visit the Hasroun Old Souk and the Statue of St. Charbel. I’ve heard the souk is a treasure trove of local crafts and traditional goods, and I’m eager to find a few souvenirs to bring back to Aisha and Malik. The Statue of St. Charbel, a prominent religious figure in Lebanon, promises to be a site of spiritual significance and stunning views.

I am also planning to visit Welinda Concept Store Studio, a shop in the area. It will be interesting to see the local artistry.

The Cedars International Festival may also be ongoing, and I may be able to attend.
