Today was a symphony of sights and tastes, a true immersion into the heart of the Douro Valley. From gliding along the serene river to delving into the legacy of a renowned Port house, every moment felt like a page torn from a travelogue. It was a day to remember, filled with the essence of Portugal.

My day began with a hearty breakfast at A Ver O Douro in Vila Nova de Gaia. The aroma of freshly baked bread and strong coffee filled the air, setting the perfect tone for a day of exploration. Fueled and ready, I headed towards the Douro River for a boat tour. I had pre-booked a 50-minute Rabelo boat cruise, eager to experience the river that has shaped this region's history and culture. The 'Rabelo' boats, traditionally used to transport Port wine, now offer a unique perspective on the stunning landscapes.

As the boat gently glided along the Douro River, I was captivated by the picturesque views of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia. The iconic Dom Luís Bridge stood majestically against the skyline, a testament to human ingenuity and architectural brilliance. The colorful buildings lining the riverbanks, the terraced vineyards climbing the hills, all painted a vivid picture of the Douro Valley's charm. Though Greta and Marko couldn't be here with me, I imagined them enjoying the sights just as much as I was. Marko would have loved pointing out all the different boats, and Greta would have been fascinated by the history of the bridges.

I ordered a glass of vintage Port, savoring the rich and complex flavors as I gazed out at the twinkling lights of Porto. It was the perfect ending to a day filled with unforgettable experiences.

I'm also planning to have breakfast at Solar Douro, lunch at Restaurante Da Azenha, and dinner at Tasca da Quinta. Before heading back to Gaia Residence, I'm hoping to stop by Kopke Wine House to pick up a few bottles as gifts for Greta and Marko.
