As my journey in Nafplio draws to a close, I wanted to soak in as much of its charm and history as possible. Today was a blend of leisurely exploration and deep dives into the past, a fitting end to my solo adventure.

My morning began with a delightful breakfast at Zournal. I savored a traditional Greek yogurt with honey and nuts, the perfect fuel for a day of exploration. The cafe's cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made it a wonderful start to the day.

City Tour Happy Train

With a sense of anticipation, I boarded the City Tour Happy Train for a ride through Nafplio's old town. The little train chugged along the cobblestone streets, passing by iconic landmarks like the Land Gate and the Bavarian Lion. The audio guide provided interesting commentary in both Greek and English, sharing historical tidbits and local insights. It was a relaxing way to see the town and get a different perspective on its beauty. The train was clean and well kept with plastic windows for wind rain.

After the train tour, I embarked on a journey to the Archaeological Museum of the Asclepieion of Epidaurus. The bus ride itself was scenic, winding through the Argolis countryside, with olive groves and rolling hills stretching as far as the eye could see. Hans would have loved this drive; he always appreciates the beauty of the countryside.

As the day drew to a close, I strolled along the waterfront, watching the sunset paint the sky with vibrant colors. A Fond Farewell

As I packed my bags, I couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness. Nafplio had captured my heart with its beauty, history, and warm hospitality. I knew I would never forget my solo adventure in this enchanting town. Tomorrow, I head back to Berlin, filled with memories and stories to share with Hans and Anna.
