Our day began with a delightful breakfast at the Aurora Ozone Hotel. The Zone Restaurant & Bar offered stunning views of Nepean Bay. It was the perfect way to start the day, fueling up with a mix of hot and cold dishes, including freshly baked pastries, fruits, and cereals. Elena particularly enjoyed the pastries, while Miguel couldn't get enough of the fresh fruit. I savored a strong cup of coffee, which prepared me for the adventures ahead. I must admit, starting the day with such a beautiful view and delicious food set a positive tone for the rest of our explorations. The Shed had humble beginnings as a change room for the local football and cricket teams. The simple 'shed' was transformed in 1992 to the venue that it is today. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a mix of locals and tourists all enjoying the laid-back vibe. Miguel and I enjoyed a couple of local beers while Elena opted for a glass of wine. It was a great way to relax and soak in the local culture. The Shed also serves meals on certain nights, prepared by local volunteers, including schnitzel nights and seafood specials. It's more than just a pub; it's a community center where people come together to celebrate life and share camaraderie. I felt a sense of belonging, as if we were welcomed into the heart of the American River community.

The kids were surprisingly enthusiastic about trying something new, and they devoured their burgers with gusto. It was a fun and tasty way to end the day, experiencing a truly Australian culinary specialty. I appreciated the fact that the kangaroos are harvested under strict guidelines set forth by the Australian government, ensuring sustainability for future generations. It's a responsible way to enjoy the unique flavors of the Australian outback. I must admit that the kangaroo burger was a little on the dry side, but it was still a tasty burger.
