A Day of Thrills and Breathtaking Views

Today was all about pushing my limits and soaking in the incredible beauty of Copper Canyon Adventure Park. After four days of exploring the depths of the canyon, it was time to gain some altitude and see it from a different perspective. The Copper Canyon Adventure Park was calling, and I was more than ready to answer.

The morning started, as it has every day here, with a hearty breakfast at Restaurante El Barranco. I fueled up with some traditional Mexican fare, knowing I'd need the energy for the day ahead. The restaurant itself offers stunning views of the canyon, making even a simple breakfast feel like a special occasion. I made sure to take a mental snapshot; the way the sun kisses the canyon walls in the morning is something I want to remember forever. After breakfast, my friends and I headed straight for the Copper Canyon Adventure Park. The park is located a short distance from Divisadero, and the anticipation built as we approached. I'd heard so much about the park's attractions, and I was eager to experience them firsthand.
Sometimes, the greatest adventures are the ones that challenge you to step outside your comfort zone.
Our first stop was the famous cable car, or *Teleférico*. This cable car runs for 2,700 meters across the canyon, offering a unique vantage point. As we ascended, the panoramic views took my breath away. The vastness of the canyon, the intricate network of ridges and valleys, and the sheer scale of it all was humbling. I couldn't help but feel a sense of awe and gratitude for being able to witness such natural beauty. I snapped photos, trying to capture the moment, but no image could truly do it justice. After the cable car, it was time for some adrenaline. The Copper Canyon Adventure Park is known for having the second longest zipline in the world. I decided to take on the *ZipRider*, a single-span zipline that stretches for over 2,530 meters. Strapped into my harness, I felt a mix of excitement and nervousness. As I launched off the platform, I soared through the air, reaching speeds of up to 130 kilometers per hour. The wind whipped past my face, and the canyon rushed beneath me. It was an exhilarating experience, a true rush of adrenaline that I won't soon forget. I was ready for even more thrills, so I decided to try the *Via Ferrata*. This activity involved a combination of rappelling, Tarzan swinging, and crossing hanging bridges. It was a challenging course, requiring both physical and mental strength. There was even a Tarzan jump! Each obstacle pushed me to my limits, but the sense of accomplishment after completing each one was incredibly rewarding. Throughout the day, we took breaks to simply enjoy the scenery. The park has several viewing platforms where you can appreciate the canyon without your feet leaving the ground. I spent some time browsing the craft stalls, admiring the local artistry and considering souvenirs. Of course, we had lunch again at Restaurante El Barranco, because why mess with a good thing?. The *deshebrada serrana* was especially delicious. As the sun began to set, we made our way to Amigo Bistro & Galeria in Creel for a nightcap. While technically listed as a nightclub, it seemed more like a cozy spot to unwind. Sipping on some local *sotol*, I reflected on the day's adventures. The Copper Canyon Adventure Park had exceeded all my expectations. It was a place where I could challenge myself physically, connect with nature, and create memories that will last a lifetime. I found myself thinking about Élodie and how much she would have loved the views from the cable car. I made a mental note to plan a trip back here with her someday. Perhaps we could even bring our future kids, when we have them; I’m sure there are plenty of activities for children in the Copper Canyon Adventure Park. Tomorrow, we're planning a visit to Cascada Basaseachi, one of Mexico's highest waterfalls. I'm looking forward to seeing another of Copper Canyon’s natural wonders. I’m also hoping we can stop by Bar Geronimo in the evening for a drink. I’ve heard it’s a great place to relax and soak in the local atmosphere. As I sit here writing this, I'm filled with a sense of gratitude. This trip has been an incredible experience, and I'm so glad I decided to come. Copper Canyon has a way of getting under your skin, of captivating your senses and leaving you wanting more. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings, but for now, I'm content to savor the memories of today's adventure.
