I opted for a traditional Greek omelette, while Maximilian enjoyed a stack of fluffy pancakes. The coffee was rich and aromatic, providing the perfect jolt of energy for the adventures that lay ahead. It was a great way to fuel up before a day of exploring. As we enjoyed our meal, we chatted about our plans for the day and the monasteries we hoped to visit tomorrow.

With our appetites satisfied, we set off to explore the Holy Monastery of Saint Nicholas Anapafsas. As the first monastery we encountered on the way from Kastraki, it stood majestically atop a narrow rock formation. The climb was invigorating, with each step revealing panoramic views of the surrounding landscape. I was struck by the ingenuity of the builders who, centuries ago, managed to construct such a remarkable structure in such a challenging location.

The name 'Anapafsas' reflects this, translating to 'the one who offers rest'. I was on the lookout for a special memento to remind me of our trip, while Maximilian was interested in finding a gift for his mother. The shop was filled with an array of interesting items, from religious icons to handmade jewelry. I eventually settled on a beautiful hand-painted icon of Saint Nicholas, while Maximilian found a delicate silver cross for his mother.

As the sun began to set, casting a golden glow over the Meteora landscape, we made our way to Valia Calda Taverna Restaurant for dinner. We ordered a selection of dishes, including lamb with traditional pasta, giant beans with leeks, and the restaurant's famous moussaka. Each dish was a culinary masterpiece, bursting with flavor and showcasing the region's unique ingredients.

The crisp winter air nipped at our cheeks, but our hearts were warmed by the memories we had created. Tomorrow, we plan to visit the Natural History Museum of Meteora and Mushroom Museum, and the Holy Monastery of Saint Stephen. I'm particularly excited about the Mushroom Museum, given my interest in sustainable living and unique ecosystems. We also plan to do a bit of souvenir shopping at Meteora Sandals (Ekfrasi) before we leave.
