Getting There

  • Car

    From Farah city center, head south on the main road towards Dżam. You will follow the road for about 100 kilometers. As you drive, you will pass through a few small towns and rural areas. Once you reach the vicinity of Dżam, look for signs indicating the Minaret of Jam. The minaret is located at approximately 34.3964° N latitude and 64.5156° E longitude. There is a dirt road leading to the site from the main road where you can park your vehicle. Note that the last stretch might be unpaved, so a 4x4 vehicle is recommended.

  • Public Transportation (Taxi)

    In Farah, you can hire a taxi or join a shared taxi heading towards Dżam. Make sure to negotiate the fare before starting your journey; it should cost around 2000-3000 AFN, depending on the negotiation. The taxi will take you towards Dżam, and you can ask the driver to drop you off near the Minaret of Jam. Keep in mind that public transportation options are limited, and you may need to arrange a return taxi as well.
