Getting There

• Car

  If you have access to a car, start your journey from Bamiyan, which is a central hub in Hazarajat. Head southeast on the Bamiyan-Panjab road (also known as Highway 1). After approximately 45 km, you will reach the town of Panjab. From Panjab, continue south on the road for about 30 km until you arrive at Nawah-ye Khwajah Ghar. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition for the journey, as some roads may be rough.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Nawah-ye Khwajah Ghar via public transportation, take a shared taxi (also known as a 'sherkat') from Bamiyan to Panjab. The fare should be around 200-300 AFN per person. Upon arriving in Panjab, you can find local taxis or motorbikes that can take you the remaining 30 km to Nawah-ye Khwajah Ghar. Make sure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which can range from 500-800 AFN depending on the vehicle and number of passengers.

• Motorbike

  For the more adventurous travelers, renting a motorbike in Bamiyan is an option. Head southeast on the Bamiyan-Panjab road, following the same route as the car directions. The journey is approximately 75 km and may take about 2-3 hours. Make sure to wear a helmet and follow local traffic rules. Rental costs can vary but expect to pay around 1000-1500 AFN for a day.

• Walking

  If you are close to Nawah-ye Khwajah Ghar and prefer to walk, ensure you have local maps or a guide. The terrain can be challenging, so it's recommended to only attempt this if you're experienced. Walking from Panjab to Nawah-ye Khwajah Ghar is about 30 km, and you should prepare for a long day of trekking with sufficient water and food supplies.
