    From any location in Central Alabama, take Interstate 65 (I-65) heading north or south depending on your starting point. Follow the signs for Huntsville. If you are coming from Birmingham, it will take approximately 2 hours. If you are coming from Montgomery, it will take about 2.5 hours. Once you reach Huntsville, take Exit 19B for U.S. 231 N/US-431 N. Continue on US-231 N for about 12 miles. Turn left onto AL-20 W, then continue for about 3 miles. Turn right onto Stoneway Trail. The Rainbow Mountain Nature Preserve will be on your left at 230 Stoneway Trail, Madison, AL 35758.

The total distance from downtown Madison is approximately 2.5 miles, which should take about 30-40 minutes to walk or 10-15 minutes to bike.
