Discover more about Foley Kids Park

Foley Kids Park, located on West Verbena Avenue in Foley, Alabama, is more than just a playground; it's a community hub where children can explore, learn, and grow. Reopened in May 2023 and also known as Sara Thompson Kids Park, the park stands as a testament to community spirit and the importance of play. The park's history is rooted in the efforts of Sara Thompson, a second-grade teacher who spearheaded the creation of the original Kids Park in 2001 with the help of over 500 community volunteers. After two decades, the original wooden structure was replaced with a modern, inclusive design. The rebuilt park retains the spirit of its predecessor while incorporating new and exciting features. The park boasts a colorful array of play structures, including castles, slides, bridges, and swings, all designed to spark creativity and encourage physical activity. Soft, resilient rubber flooring provides a safe landing, and accessible pathways and equipment ensure that children with disabilities can fully participate. Shaded picnic areas offer a perfect spot for families to enjoy a meal together, while walking paths invite visitors to stroll and appreciate the surroundings. The park is located near the Max Griffin Pool and the Foley Skate Park, creating a central hub for family recreation. It is open seven days a week, from 7 am to 8 pm.
